Asako and I began to walk back to my house, and I didn't even try to stop her because there was no way that I was going to be able to.
After a while of walking in an awkward silence, I finally decided to say something to Asako. "So... What was this amazing thing that would 100% convince me to do tutoring?"
Asako let out a short evil laugh. "Hahahah! Well I'm so glad you asked-"
"Quit it with the cars salesman advertising and just get to the point." I cut Asako off in an attempt to stop her prattling.
"Apparently Oikawa has been looking for someone to tutor him in chemistry and you caught his eye." Asako said nonchalantly.
I stopped dead in my tracks while Asako continued to walk. "W-wait, are you serious right now?!" I quickly sped up to catch up to Asako.
"Yup, he even asked me and everything." Asako had a cheeky grin on her face. "The great Tooru Oikawa failed apparently another chemistry test and needs a tutor so that he doesn't fail. And while looking around the classroom for a tutor, he came up to me, since I guess he knew that I was a tutor for someone else, and he asked me if you were tutoring."
I was extremely confused, and I was having a lot of trouble trying to process whatever Asako was saying to me.
"Of course, after that I asked him why he was asking about you tutoring, and you know what he said?" Asako paused and I shook my head no. "He said that he thought you were cute, and that he wanted you to be the one tutoring him. Oikawa even made some snarky remark about how he would have no one but you tutoring him, which was followed by him practically begging me to get you to tutor him."
"...we-well then..." I paused for a second, trying to collect my thoughts. "Uh- T-tell Oikawa th-that he can meet me a-at the library after school tomorrow if he wants me to tutor him."
"Well I don't exactly want to be your messenger, but I also do kind of want to, so I'm on it." Asako responded.
Not too long after that, we arrived at my house, and Asako decided that she would let herself in. I didn't mind, and I was home alone most of the time so I didn't care either. It wasn't that my father and mother didn't care about me, but they just had to either be at work throughout the day or they were on a business trip. I didn't care, and if anything I enjoyed being alone all the time.
Asako and I just ended up spending some time together ranting about various things and some people who we both found annoying, and then she had to head home before she got in trouble for staying out too late.
Eventually, tomorrow rolled around and the school day dragged on as per usual, though there was something different about my attitude. I guess the change made it easier to deal with a bunch of people around me acting like idiots was that I knew that if I just made it through the day I would get to talk with Oikawa for like the first time ever.
Once the end of the insufferable school day was finally over with, and I wouldn't have to be around so many loud and obnoxious people, I walked to the library and waited and hoped that Oikawa would arrive soon.
"Hey Y/N!" Oikawa smiled brightly, and he pulled up a chair next to me. "Thank you so much for tutoring me, I really appreciate it."
"Hm?" I looked over to face him, taking my eyes off of the book I was reading. "Oh, it's- it's no problem, I don't mind." I closed my book and tucked it away in my bag, and then I pulled out a chemistry textbook. "Asako said that you needed help with chemistry, so where do you want to start?"
"Ah," Oikawa sighed. "And here I was hoping that I could get away without actually studying, and instead just talking with you, but here we are."
"You really thought that I would agree to tutor you, and then I wouldn't actually tutor you?" I paused, and Oikawa nodded innocently. "Maybe you do need my help more than I thought you did."
Oikawa scoffed, obviously annoyed. "I cannot believe this madness, and here I thought that you were nice!"
I sighed, and I began to explain some basic concepts to Oikawa, though I could tell that he wasn't paying attention. The biggest sign that he wasn't paying attention was just how much he was staring at me. While I was explaining, I couldn't help but get somewhat distracted by my own thoughts.
Does Oikawa think that I'm actually mean now? I didn't mean to say that, it just came out. Gah! Stupid mouth, I can never seem to say what I actually mean, and it always ends up with me just seeming like a total jerk!
I felt a poke at my cheek. "Hey, you okay?" Oikawa asked, and I snapped out of my thoughts.
"Oh, yeah I'm fine, sorry." I looked down at the textbook again, and then I looked at the time. "We still have quite a bit of time left... I should probably keep on explaining this stuff. Are you understanding everything so far?"
"I'll be honest with you, I kept on getting distracted by how cute you look whenever you seem to get invested in something." Oikawa commented, which made me extremely flustered. "And you're even cuter when you're all flustered like this!"
"E-eh?!" I quickly turned my face away from Oikawa in a desperate attempt to stop him from seeing me like this. "Q-quit it! I- W-we're su-supposed to be st-studying not- not flirting!"
"And you stutter when you're nervous or flustered, I've noticed that too." Oikawa laughed, before he placed his hand on my chin, turning my head to look at him. "Honestly, just all of you is adorable."
I flailed my arms around in an attempt to push myself away from him. Oikawa had brought my face way too close to him.
"Y-you know wh-what? L-let's just e-end here f-for today." I quickly gathered up my things, and Oikawa had a disapointed look on his face.
"Aw, alright then, shall we meet again same day next week?" Oikawa asked, with a playful look in his eyes.
"A-alright, we can- we can meet again next Thursday a-as well." I managed to stutter out, before I turned and left.
