I let out a content sigh as Tooru and I walked through the park. It had been quite a few years since the two of us got together and graduated high school, and now the two of us had returned to the park where we had promised each other that we'd spend forever together.
"Today's such a great day, Tooru." I said.
"Why's that?" He asked, holding my hand in his own.
"Well, to start off, it's a Wednesday, and I love Wednesdays." I continued, "Second of all, I'm getting to walk through the park with my wonderful boyfriend." I squeezed Tooru's hand lightly. "And third of all, the cherry blossoms are in bloom again. I love how pretty all of the trees are. Not to mention that it reminds me of so many years ago when we- well, you know."
Tooru laughed. "Actually, I have an idea." Tooru tightened his hold on my hand, and he began to run off through the park, dragging me along with him. A laugh escaped my lips as well.
When the two of us stopped running, we had found ourselves in front of the large cherry blossom tree once more.
"It's amazing how this tree is still here." I mumbled. "It was already pretty old when we were younger, so just imagine how many years old this tree is now."
"I'd say that it's amazing, but not as amazing as you." Tooru grabbed both of my hands and turned me to look at him.
Tooru cleared his throat. "Now, I actually brought you here for something really important."
"What is it, Tooru?" I asked, tilting my head to the side slightly.
"Well, I thought that this would be the most appropriate place to ask you this, since I did profess my love to you here, so many years ago. So then, Y/N L/N," Tooru knelt down in front of me, and I felt my heart beat quicken.
Tooru pulled out a box from inside of his jacket.
Tooru opened the box to reveal a shiny silver ring.
"Will you marry me?"
"Yes yes yes yes!" I leapt forward and tackled Tooru to the ground. "Oh my god, I don't think that I can say yes enough. I'd love to marry you, Tooru." Tears ran down my face as a laugh rang out from my chest.
Tooru laughed too as he wrapped his arms tightly around me. "I love you so much, Y/N, and I can't wait for us to spend the rest of our lives together."
