Chapter 16

~Y/n's POV~

-Time Skip-

It's been a few weeks since L'Manburg took me in. They were a bit skittish at first, since I fled. But Wilbur showed them that I was apart of them.

Me and Tubbo have grown closer than before. Tommy is still wary of me and doesn't trust me, which I understand. Wilbur has been treating me really good, a little too good. Maybe it's because I'm girl, and there are no other girls in L'Manburg.

Me and Eret have an peculiar friendship. After a while, I've found that, Eret is a very humble and funny man. Even though his voice imitates thunder, there's something comforting about him.

It's the day of war. At least that's what I've heard, and the opponents have yet to show their faces. These past few weeks, I've gotten training with weapons and medical supplies, which will help me in the battlefield. I also got fitted for a uniform! It's similar to all the others but my cuffs and collar are f/c. Now I am officially apart of L'Manburg.

Currently, our group was crowded in the small camarvan. Wilbur was explaining the plan once more to all of us. Right as Wilbur finished, Fundy's voice went into a low whisper and pointed out the window, "Guys, they're here."

Sure enough, four men stood outside of L'manburg's entrance.

Wilbur broke the silence, "The best way to fool our friends out there is 'the act of surprise' and that's where you come in," Wilbur pointed at me, I gulped. "You stay in the van, make sure you're hidden from view. While the rest of us talk to them, unarmed."

The van erupted with a few "Okay's" and unsure nods.

Not everyone was okay with the 'unarmed' part, but Wilbur believed it was an act of bravery and showed our confidence.
Brave? Yes, but he could get hurt or even killed.

As the men piled out of the van, and a few hugs from them, it left me and Wilbur.

He sighed, "Dream wants to take back the Embassy first, so that's where the war will start. I need you to stay here for me okay?"

(AGAIN DOES NOT FOLLOW THE STORYLINE)

"ok, promise me you'll be safe?" I practically owe this man my life, he saved me after all.

He pulled me into a hug. "Only if you will?"

I smiled against his shoulder, "I promise"

"Promise"

After our hug, Wilbur left with the rest of our rag-tag group of children.

I watched them go and speak with Dream and his men, probably discussing the war.
After a few minutes, my group returned. Each went and got their armor and weapons they would need for war. Tubbo ran up to me and gave me a hug, "Y/n! Y/n! Could you help me with this," he held out two shin armor straps. I smiled and took them from his hands and began working on the pieces of netherite.

"We're going to the embassy! I'm so excited, but I'm also nervous. I've never been in a battle before."

"Yeah..." it worried me how excited he was to go to war.
"There" I said as I tugged at the metal. "Thank you Y/n!" Tubbo wrapped his arms around my waist.

Soon after they all left, heading towards the embassy. It had only been at least 15 minutes and guess what? I'm already bored.

I tried the door, locked.

They locked me in here?

I brushed it off, I will have to talk to Wil about that later. I walked over to the windows and climbed on the counter. I pushed the window, click.

I smiled to myself as I slipped out of the van. I walked along shadows to the embassy.

It wouldn't hurt to see if they were alright? Right?

I found myself at the bottom of a cobblestone tower. Shouts were heard from above and from the nearby tower. I hid in the shadows, with my back leaned against the cold stone. As I stayed put, I heard the shouting and talking get closer. I couldn't make out any of the words but a did hear one thing, the whistle of an arrow.

The arrow landed a few feet ahead of me, with its tip on fire. I heard sizzling and the ground began to burn.

Then the whole world turned upside down.
