Ember's POV
Eyes empty of sanity.
I was alone.
It stared at me, hungry.
I was the defenseless child again.
"DAD! HELP ME!" I screamed.
The Netherkin screeched and lunged for my throat.
When I woke up, I put the Ender eye back into my inventory.
"Hey, Stella," I said, yawning. "Are you awake?"
"Yeah," Stella yawned. "For some reason I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep."
"We should go," Rain said, before turning to Stella. "Are you okay? Your eyes kinda look foggy."
"I'm fine, Rain," she told him. "I just didn't get a lot of sleep last night."
Rain gave her a concerned look, then gave me a look which I answered with a shrug
For some reason, Stella didn't only look tired, she looked alert, despite her cloudy eyes.
Careful Ember... the voice whispered.
I quickly shook my head. I'm just imaging it, I'm definitely not going insane.
"Let's go," Rain said, still giving Stella a concerned look.
"Maybe. We should take care of whoever that is?" Stella suggested, pointing to a white hooded man with red eyes.
"Alright, who the hell are you?" Rain asked.
"I am the Corruptor! I am the Entity!" The man said.
"Uhhhhh, okay?" I said. "I'm assuming that your name is the Corruptor?"
Silence.
"What? No, gosh damit! It's The Entity!" He yelled.
Stella summoned an arcane blade. "We'll give you one chance to leave," she said. "Or you're going to die."
The Entity laughed. "Really? You can't fight!"
Stella blinked. "Um, what?" She said. "Did I just hear that correctly?"
"Because you're a girl," he said.
"Well, that's sexist," Stella said. "I already hate this guy."
"We should kill him," I said, and Rain nodded with agreement.
We turned to see the Entity who suddenly flew up in the air. "I'd be careful if I were you." He said, mockingly, before disappearing.
"Wow. WHAT A COWARD." I said, loudly.
"Ember! We don't want him to hear you!" Stella said, looking worried.
"Alright then," I said, before raising my voice. "MOON WHERE ARE YOU?"
"You are terrible at making plans!" Rain told me. "Come on, it was your idea to find your friend and we agreed to come. But you have to take this seriously."
I glared at him. What happened to having fun?
"Guys, stop fighting," Stella said, sounding exhausted.
Man, she needs to sleep before she walks off the edge of a cliff.
So, me, being a sensible friend, smashed the hilt of my sword against Stella's head and knocked her out.
"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST DO?" Rain yelled.
"She'll wake up, fine and won't accidentally fall off a cliff because she's tired," I said. "You're welcome."
"BY CLOBBERING HER IN THE HEAD?" Rain shouted.
"Errr... yes?" I said, backing away.
"I'D BE SO JUSTIFIED IN SMASHING MY SWORD AGAINST YOUR HEAD, YOU KNOW," Rain continued to shout. "HOW DARE YOU ATTACK MY GIRLFRIEND!"
"Hey, you said girlfriend." I noted.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence.
"I give up," Rain groaned. "I literally can't stand you."
I grinned "that's fine," I said. "Because I can't stand how serious you guys are."
Yes, if you can't tell, Ember is more of the lighthearted jokester, and he can't understand why the others aren't like that.
Also I'm adding some reasons why Ember might act this way.
