Rain's POV
We went separate ways and I officially hated it.
I also wasn't pleased about the fact that Ember has been teasing me nonstop about my relationship with Stella for the past hour.
"You know, I feel like the bad guys really have a Wither Heart which makes them Cold as Ice," Ember said.
"Ember, having the Wither Heart is not something to joke about," I said. "It nearly killed me."
Ember paled when I said that. "Oh, I'm sorry about that." He said, sounding apologetic.
"It's fine," I said. "If you have to make puns, make sure they're not something life threatening."
"Wow," he whispered. "The village really has changed. It used to look a lot more organized and a lot less spider webs."
He was right, there were a ton of cobwebs everywhere.
"Come on Ember, let's find your friend." I said, as I started to search around.
Nothing, nothing, nothing... still nothing. Oh wait, that's a dead body.
I noticed that Ember was getting pretty desperate despite the fact we've been searching for only three minutes.
"Hey, what is this?" I asked, picking up a blue book.
"That's Moon's favorite journal," Ember told me. "She usually brings it everywhere she goes."
"Ember, look out!" I shouted, suddenly aware of the full diamond armored zombie that was behind him.
Ember turned around as the zombie raised it's diamond sword, and I knew that Ember wouldn't be able to pull his sword out in time.
Not Ember, I thought. He's annoying, but he's my friend and he doesn't deserve to die.
Then the zombie stopped, and despite having not having a brain, looked quite surprise.
Oh, he's glowing.
The blue luminescent threads had wrapped themselves around it's armor, and we all stared at it, wondering how the heck those threads got there.
Then the threads turned into a burning orange color, and the zombie screamed as it caught on fire.
Suddenly the threads disappeared, but the zombie still screamed as it's armor melted away.
Then I heard the sound of a bow string being pulled back, and the zombie collapsed, with three arrows in it's back.
From behind the zombie, there was a young woman, probably the same age as Stella, she had sapphire blue eyes and jet black hair. Her skin was pale, and she looked a tad nervous.
"Ember?" She said, looking shocked. "Is that really you? I thought that you were..."
Ember's face reminded me of how Patrick looked at Azura when they thought they were alone.
"Moon!" Ember said, excitedly. "You're okay! Was that you? Did you have those really cool threads?"
Moon nodded, her cheeks red with embarrassment. Then she looked over and finally noticed me.
"Hey," she said. "I see you have a friend, Ember. Hello, my name is Moon, what's yours?"
"I'm Rain," I said. "And that was pretty impressive."
Moon's cheeks turned even redder at that comment.
"I thought you hated fighting," Ember said.
"I do, but when the village was attacked and you disappeared, I thought welp, time to stop hiding." She said.
"Thank you for stopping that mutant spider from killing me," he said.
"You're welcome," Moon replied. "I just knew that you were in danger and that I could do something to help. I learned that I'm more skilled with the bow than with the sword."
"Did anybody else survive?" I asked.
Moon shook her head. "I've been defending myself for the past few days," she said. "But this wasn't the first village they attacked. If I recall, about nine years ago, a kingdom was also attacked by an unknown force."
"The Entity," I said. "He must be attacking villages and kingdoms to make his army stronger as us more vulnerable. I'd hate to stop the nice conversation, but we should get Stella so we can stop the Entity sooner."
"Um, who in the world is Stella?" Moon asked. "And who or what is the Entity?"
"Come on, Moon," Ember told her. "I'll tell you everything you need to know."
