Ember's POV

She's alive, she's alive, she's alive! I thought over and over again ever since we left our former village.

We had stopped for the night and Rain was watching over Stella, for some unknown reason.

"Hey Rain?" I started, but Rain interrupted me with a glare. I quickly closed my mouth, and apologized quietly.

"Did something happen?" Moon asked, stirring and coming over.

"No," I told her. "Sorry, nothing happened, just Rain watching over his girlfriend."

Rain rolled his eyes, but didn't say anything.

"I know that some relationships are strange, but I don't think that there's any need to creepily watch your loved one sleep." I told him.

"I don't want her up all night," Rain said to me.

"So, just knock her out if that happens," I said. "It worked great last time."

Moon shot me a look. "Seriously?" She asked. "Ember, did you really do that?"

"Maybe," was my reply.

"Let's not knock anybody out, please," she sighed.

"Okay," I said, smiling.

"Find the book yourself, mother," Stella said in her sleep. "I don't have it, you know I don't. Either that, or you're blind that you never noticed the fact that the book wasn't floating next to me like it's supposed to."

"Okay, now she's talking in her sleep," I said. "Is that a bad thing?"

"Shut up," Rain told me as he slapped me.

"Boys," I heard Moon mumbled, shaking her head.

I gave Rain a superior look before walking a short distance away from my friends and took out that red Ender eye.

I kind of wish I knew what you could do. I thought.
