Bellamy watches as Clarke helps her mom. Ontari is brain dead and the next possible step is blood transfusion. Which they need Abby for.
"Where is your girl?" Murphy asks. Bellamy and the others ran into him, Pike, and Indra before they made it to the elevator shaft. There they split and him and Murphy went to help Clarke. But he hasn't seen Ash.
"Bellamy," he hears. He goes out to see Octavia with the others. She is looking out the window. He looks to see people climbing up the building. That is definitely a first for him.
"We need to hold the line here," he states. "Don't kill unless necessary." In the corner of his eye, he sees a person move. "I'll be back," he promises.
He takes off in that direction. He keeps his gun raised just in case. He sees someone standing on the edge of the windowsill.
"Ash?"
She turns to look at him.
"You need to see it," she tells him, smiling.
"See what?"
"The City of Light."
His heart stop.
"You took the Key?"
"I had a reason," she tells him, looking confused. "But I can't fully remember. But all the pain stopped."
"Ash-"
"Take the Key." She jumps down off the ledge, walking up to him. She grabs his hand. "Be with me. We don't ever have to worry about hurting each other or losing each other again. No more pain. No more lost. No more responsibility."
"We're going to help you," he promises. The caring, loving demeanor that she was showing melts away. She drops his hand and goes to punch him. He blocks her, but she steps on his foot. She gets her hand free and punches him in the face, hard. It was a miracle that she didn't break his nose.
"Take the Key and I'll stop," she states, continuing to fight him. He just tries to block, not wanting to hurt her.
"Bellamy," he hears Octavia call. His sister comes around the corner, distracting Ash long enough for Bellamy to get a hold of her. She keeps struggling, making it hard to hold on. But he won't let go. Because once A.L.I.E realizes the hurting him won't work, she will order Ash to hurt herself; and he can't let that happen.
"Help O," he calls. Ash keeps yelling insults at him, but he keeps trying to ignore it. It can't be her opinion. Anything that would hurt her would be blocked from her system. "Open the closet door."
Octavia does as requested. No windows. Nothing she can hurt herself with. It's perfect. He locks her in there. Hopefully it's enough to keep her safe until A.L.I.E can be shut down. The only EMP device they had was used on Abby. Rightfully so but now he can't help her. Octavia shoves a chair under the handle.
"Let's hope that works," she states. The two go to help defend the throne room. Pike is there with Miller, fighting. Bryan had to be seen by Abby because of him being injured earlier and Murphy is helping with the blood transfusion. So they are limited on who they have to defend Clarke. Soon people start climbing through the windows. They try to hold them back. But without them feeling pain, they won't stop. They just keep coming.
"Protect Clarke," Octavia barks at Bellamy. Pike nods his head in agreement. Bellamy heads straight to the throne room while Octavia and Pike barricades the entrance near them. He gets close to the door to see the closet door is open. She got out. It wasn't even that long since they locked her in there. He sees a shadow moving in the corner of his eye. He turns last minute to see Ash fire an arrow. He manages to avoid it.
"I can't let you help Clarke," she tells him pulling out a dagger. "Just take the Key. We can be happy."
"I can't."
"The pain will end," she promises. She stops, staring off in a certain direction. "I should tell him about that." She has to be talking to A.L.I.E. Ash looks back at Bellamy. "The City of Light is quiet," she promises. Then she chuckles. The most light hearted laugh he has heard from her in a long time. "Well there are other people of course. But the buzzing noise stopped."
"Buzzing noise?"
"A.L.I.E told me it was a response to whatever happened back in a mountain, whatever that means. It wasn't constant, but it was there apparently."
"Put down the knife and we can talk it out, Ash."
"No. You won't take the Key."
She goes to plunge the knife into her stomach. Quickly he lunges, knocking her down. The blade clatters as it hits the ground, skidding away. She tries to get up, going for the knife. He quickly gets up, wrapping his arms around her. He tries to get a tight grip on her, no matter how much she keeps struggling. It hurts seeing her like this. After a couple minutes, she stops fighting and starts crying. She is shaking while sobbing.
"I'm sorry," she cries into his shirt.
"I hate to ask, but what happened to your grandma?"
She tries to pull herself together before answering. "A bomb went off on Unity Day."
He readjusts the way he is holding her, now to be more comforting.
"Sorry I had to ask."
"A.L.I.E's gone," Ash tells him. "Clarke did it and A.L.I.E is gone."
