"Mom! did i ever tell you, you are the smartest, coolest mom in this world" he said making his mom smile even more.

"I know that, now get up, eat something and go out with your siblings. Don't come until dinner time" she said.

He laughed and sat up.

she stood up and placed a kiss on Alec's forehead "I love you Alec".

"I love you too mom" he said and continued "why don't you love someone".

"Iam loving sweetheart" she said.

"No!!! not me, Jace, Izzy. I mean why don't you fall in love again" he asked.

she didn't gave answer.

"Mom, sit here, we need to talk" he said looking seriously.

"I know you love dad, but he is gone. you made yourself busy with work and us. But you need someone to look after you, hold your hand, you can rest on his shoulder. someone can take care of you" he said.

"I think you are grown up, you are giving me adult talk" she raised her eyebrow.

"Iam just saying, I don't have problem to call someone Dad...OR step father if he is arrogant" he laughed.

"nice try Alec! but there is no one" she said tried to stand up but he glared and dragged her by hand to sit "mom!!".

"okay fine! I have liked someone for years. but I never talked to him in that way. He supplies material to our construction industry from past six years" she said without taking break.

"okay" he said calmly.

"what okay!! I told you everything" she said.

"tell me about him, everything more clearly" he asked. She didn't give an answer.

"Mom! did you know he was single or committed or married or anything" he asked.

"I don't know, like i said I never talked about personal life details in meetings" she said.

"Mom! all these years you wasted looking at him and feeling butterflies in your stomach like a teenage girl who has a crush on the football team captain" he asked annoyingly.

"don't make joke on me Alec! you are a kid and be like that" she said nervously and stood up.

"mom! talk to him or move on. At Least now think about your life. me, Izzy and Jace have grown up and have partners. I don't want you to live alone" he said.

"Oh, now you're grown up and saying that I can't live alone. you are making decisions for me!!" she asked.

"Mom, you are feeling nervous. you definitely like him. Iam just saying talk to him, if he is not committed give it a try. It's time to think about yourself" he said.

"don't teach your mom what to do. get up and go. And never talk to me about this again. I don't need anyone in my life to live" she shouted and left the room, leaving Alec alone. Alec made a note in his brain about this.

Mary knocked on door asking permission to get in. "are you only mad at him or me also" she asked.

"why would I be mad at you" Alec said.

"well! don't be mad at him also. you know he calls me everyday to talk. but for the past five days he called to ask me about you only. what is he doing, how is he, did he eat, etc..." she said.

"I believed that" he said ignoring the fact.

she smiled "you look good, here....I know this is old. It's from my ancestors. It's keep passing".
