Pulling up to the first place sign that is at the front of the grid, switching the engine off for the final time this season, I undid my seat belt and hoisted myself up out of my seat with the help of the halo, I stood up throwing my arms in the air and I could hear the crowd cheering. I jumped off of the car, lifted my visor and I could my handsome George running towards me and as soon as he got to me, he picks me up and leans his forehead on my helmet.

George put me back down on the ground, I run and hug my family who are all crying happy tears and it's making me cry. My dad pulled me into a tight hug and said "I'm so proud of you my racing champ". Then mum pulled me into a very tight hug and said "I'm so proud of you my darling. I can't believe you are a champion". Ollie then pulled me into a hug and told me "I couldn't be more proud of you. You aced it out there today. You make me so proud to be your brother". Finally, both of my sisters put their arms around me and spoke in unison and said "Our sister is the champion and were so proud of you". After hugs from the family, I was pulled into a massive team group hug, knowing it was my final one with the HiTech team.

I was waiting at the bottom of the steps of the podium with Liam and Juri, as we were handed our Perelli caps. "I just want to say, thank you for making this season so memorable and being such great racers and friends and I just want to wish you luck for next season," I said to the two boys in front of me. "Thanks, AJ, means a lot," both Liam and Juri said.

Announcer: In 1st place and Formula 2 champion from Great Britain we have, AVA-JAYNE NORRIS

I walk out onto the podium and stand on the first place step, throwing my arms in the air, with the crowd cheering my name and it brought some tears to my eyes, as the British national anthem was played. Definitely made me proud to be British. Due to the UAE having a no-alcohol policy, I was soaked in sparkling water by my teammate and Juri. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see George come out onto the podium.

"Georgie, what you doing up here, I thought you were with my family, standing in the pit lane," I said. "Well I was but I have a very important question to ask you," my boyfriend said and I nodded in response.

"AJ, you are my world, you just mean everything to me and I can't thank you enough for being that special person in my life, you are my best friend, my soulmate, the love of my life and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you. So that leaves me to ask you". George gets down on one knee and says "Ava-Jayne Laura Norris, will you do the absolute honour of becoming my wife and marry me?" George said with happy tears flowing out of his eyes.

"Of course, I'll marry you Georgie" was my response and the rest of Liam and Juri's sparkling water was sprayed over me and George as we shares a loving kiss on the top step of the podium.

"Before I leave the podium, I just want to say something... I want to thank the HiTech team for putting faith in me this season as a driver, who had driven in 2 years but by them giving me this amazing opportunity, I couldn't be more grateful to them for helping me get my career back on track. I want to thank my entire family for supporting me, on my journey back to racing especially my twin brother Lando and my now fiance George because they have been my biggest supporters this season. But this is my first and last season in Formula 2 because next season I will be racing for Red Bull in Formula 1 and I get to race against my brother, who I will always have competition against. Thank you to all the fans who have been sending me positive messages this season, it has really helped me get through some of the toughest parts and it means a lot. Have a great winter break, have a lovely Christmas and good luck next season" I said to the crowd that was in the grandstand and all the teams and my family and friends that were in the pit lane. I snuggled into George as I walked off of the podium back down to the paddock.
