Today is race day, and I am extremely nervous because I'm in pole position and I could lose the position by the first corner.

I've woken up before George, had a shower and now I'm sitting on the balcony icing my wrist before I wrap it ready for the race. I could hear George stirring in his sleep, so I get up and walk over to my side of the bed, sit down and move George's hair out of his face. "Morning handsome, sleep alright?" I said quietly. "Morning my beautiful, I slept fine, especially with you in my arms," George said in his sexy morning voice. "Can you wrap my wrist ready for the race today?" I asked my boyfriend. "Of course I can darling" was George's reply.

After George wraps my wrist, I tell George I'm heading to the track early before the race because I have a pre-race briefing with team principal James and I have a meeting with Andy my engineer.

Upon arriving at the track, I see Liam arriving at the same time, so I run over to my Kiwi teammate. "Good morning Kiwi," I said in a cheery tone. "Good morning to you too pommie," the cheery New Zealander said. "Let's go to this meeting and get the day rolling, I'm nervous enough as it is being on pole for this race" I said to my teammate. "Let's get this meeting over with and you'll be fine, your a strong racer and I know that you can win this race, just believe in yourself," Liam says to me

Both me and Liam head into HiTech's hospitality and head upstairs to the meeting room. 40 minutes later me and and Liam head to our driver rooms to get ready for the race. A I was getting ready there was on the door "Come in" I said and the door opened to reveal my brother. "It's just a flying visit, as I've got a meeting with Zak and Andreas but I just wanted to wish you luck for the race and I'll be watching from your garage. Your gonna win, I know it. George wishes you luck but he is currently stuck in a 2 hour meeting at Williams. He's given me his phone so he doesn't get distracted" Lando said with a big smile on his face. "Thank you Lan. My wrist is feeling a lot better today but I've got a bandage on it, just to give it that extra bit of support" was my response to my brother. I walk over to my brother and give him a tight hug, as he was leaving my driver room. Grabbing my helmet, HANS device, balaclava and gloves, I was ready to leave my driver room and head to the garage and see Andy.

All Andy spoke to me about was where I can improve on, on turn 3,8,14 on each exit. My trainer Ryan, done some concentration exercises with me, such as using tennis balls and seeing how quick my reflexes were an they were pretty quick even though my wrist is still quite painful.

The time had come for me to get into the car, I grabbed my balaclava, helmet an HANS device and put them on, climbed in the car and then put my gloves on, the right hand glove went on fine but it was a tight squeeze for my left hand. As I'm about to sit down, I felt a wave of sickness come of me but it was gone in a second. Sat down and strapped in, I was ready to head out to the grid.

Andy: Radio Check

AJ: Copy loud and clear Andy.

With the car in position, my visor down, I was glancing up at the five lights as they are about to go out.

IT'S LIGHTS OUT AND AWAY WE GO

As the lights went out, I was straight on the accelerator and down the the main straight and straight into turn 1, creating a gap between myself and my teammate. As I navigated through turns 2,3,4 and 5, I kept in mind of the track limits that were in place at turn 8 and 14.

The next 6 out of 45 laps done and I'm still race leader at this point of time, Im getting twinges of pain in my wrist but I'm grin and bearing it. I need to focus, I want to be on that top step of that podium and I will be there today, I'm going to make sure of it.
