A/N: Do you guys what me to add chapter number? When I started this fiction, I wasn't planning on doing like 100 chapters - so I didn't number them. But now this is chapter 61, so thought I would ask the question.

Also, this chapter contains a little bit of gore and explicit content.

Clearing the building with a few seconds to spare, they keep moving further away as the debris falls around them. From the safety of Wen Ke Xing's embrace, Zhou Xu watches the first floor crash down, dragging the roof along with it, flattening the entire structure like a sandwich.

Wen Ke Xing slows down to a stop under the shade of a small grove about fifty meters from the collapsed building. Turning towards the rubble, his face slightly paler than normal and his breathing somewhat strained, he reluctantly moves to let Zhou Xu back down on the ground.

Withdrawing his hands from Wen Ke Xing's back, Zhou Xu stares at his red fingers that are both warm and sticky. Panic wells up inside him almost paralyzing his heart and making his mind go blank. He grabs Wen Ke Xing's shoulders, twisting him left and right to see where he is injured, "Lao wen, are you bleeding? Are you okay?"

Looking down at his man, Wen Ke Xing's pale lips curves into a smile and he asks with a teasing and somewhat husky voice, "Ah-Xu, are you worried about me?"

In no mood for flirting or games, Zhou Xu's voice turns towards scolding with a hint of anxiety, "Just answer me!"

Still teasing, Wen Ke Xing tilts his head slightly to the left, his smile widening, "You did say that the hero had to save the beauty..."

Exasperated, Zhou Xu exclaims whilst slightly shaking his shoulders, "Lao Wen!"

"Ah-Xu, I'm fine, it's just a scratch." Trying to laugh it off, the pain shoots like a knife stab through his back and he coughs up a bit of blood, leaving some trickling down his lower lip.

"..."

Taking his sleeve, Zhou Xu wipes the blood of Wen Ke Xing's lips, a crease forming between his eyebrows, his heart still somewhat paralyzed.

"Okay, so it might be a deep scratch."

After verifying that the cut is deep, but not fatal, Zhou Xu is unable to hold himself back anymore. He will be fine. He is fine. Everything will be fine. He moves his hands to place his palms around Wen Ke Xing's face, the blood staining those jade white cheeks. He tilts the head downward so he can stare up into those black ones. Raising himself up on his toes, he kisses those cold yet soft lips. The kiss quickly turns deep, passionate, longing and somewhat desperate. The kiss is so manic that he almost tears up, but he doesn't let go. It is everything that it needs to be in order to release and reduce the anxiety he had felt when he saw the blood. It is everything he needs it to be to reboot his heart.

Not sure what is happening, it takes a moment for Wen Ke Xing to catch up to the fact that Zhou Xu is kissing him. His arms reacting first by circling that slender waist to lift him closer, helping him reach even further up. First. He kissed me first. So many feelings swirling inside him, they leak out in low hitching moans, "Ah‑Xu... Ah-Xu..."

Succumbing to both his worry and his need to ensure that his man is fine, Zhou Xu clings to Wen Ke Xing, allowing himself to be lifted by those arms again. With his toes dangling just above the grass, he reaches as high as he is able, pressing himself against his man for as much contact with that cold body as possible. His tongue desperately searching Wen Ke Xing's as he mumbles, "Lao Wen..." Moving his hands around the neck to burry his fingers into that raven black hair, both to hold on and to pull his man closer.
