"You dropped it." Wen Ke Xing's voice is flat and it is more of a statement than a question. He is in disbelief. This was certainly not what he had in mind when Zhou Zi Shu had asked him to go swimming. He thought they were going to the hot spring. He thought that he would have access to all that creamy, milky skin all wrapped around him, hot and steamy. He thought they were going to have sex. Those thoughts had quickly turned puzzled when they had not headed to their waterfall. Instead, he is now on the edge of a cliff staring down at the roaring river.

Zhou Zi Shu puts his biggest puppy eyes on display as he pouts dramatically, "I was stabbed in my heart meridian. I lost the function of my right arm. I fell off a cliff. I died. How was I supposed to hold on to it?" Zhou Zi Shu isn't really scolding. It's more like trying to coax Wen Ke Xing into feeling a bit sorry for him.

Without sparing his man so much as a glance, his voice not affected in the slightest by the hurt feelings that his man is faking, Wen Ke Xing response, "I still can't believe you dropped Bai Yi."

Zhou Zi Shu looks at the man who is staring down at the roaring water below them like it is the end of the world. "Ah-Xing, it will be fine. We are both healthy and our injuries have healed. Besides, we are now two of the strongest martial artists in both Ghost Valley and Jianghu. I am not going to disappear on you again. It will be fine, I promise."

Wen Ke Xing heart is beating faster than normal and just the thought of seeing his man jump into a river for a third time, makes that same heartbeat somewhat irregular. It wasn't like the first two times went well.

"Ah-Xing~" Zhou Zi Shu nudges him on the arm, pouts a bit more and then raises himself up on his toes to kiss his man on the cheek, "How about we make a wager?"

Suspicious, but definitely intrigued, Wen Ke Xing throws a side-glance at this scheming man of his, "What's the wager?"

Knowing that he is about to hook Wen Ke Xing into helping him, Zhou Zi Shu's pout curls and his eyes turns innocent, "The one who finds Bai Yi gets to have a wish fulfilled by the other person."

Pursing his lips, Wen Ke Xing asks, "Anything? No loopholes? I can pick whatever I want and you'll do it?"

"Anything."

Resigned and also already thinking about all the things that he is going to make Zhou Zi Shu do to fulfill his wish, Wen Ke Xing stares at the almost black water and starts to disrobe, "Come on Ah-Xu, pearls don't lie on the seashore. If you want one, you must dive for it." (1)

Though there is an element of fear in those black eyes, Zhou Zi Shu can see that Wen Ke Xing is trying to focus on winning. He can also see where that wish will be leading. Well, not exactly, but he thinks that he has a pretty good idea—it is after all Wen Ke Xing. Besides, this wouldn't be the first time the man claims his prize after a wager.

"Are you ready?" He asks, and the question is genuine. He wants to make sure that Wen Ke Xing is ready for this. That he is ready to face his trauma, the trauma that was once so great that it was prioritized and then annihilated by the Water of Lethe. The trauma that somehow came back and started to change him into the man that the boy from all those years ago should have been in the first place.

Those black ones stare back at him and though there is still some parts that are not calm, he takes a deep breath and lets most of his anxiety go, "I'm ready."
