Wave the White Flag

You are not dealing with psychos again today, boss or no boss. You turn on your heel and run straight back into the office, taking a moment to lock the doors just as that monster slams agasint them, probably attracted to your sudden movements.

You spare a glance behind her to your boss, You see him dragging himself towards a vehicle, but you don't think he'll make it holding his intestines in his abdomen like that.

A loud crack and slap jolt you back to the woman beating on the glass. Blood is smeared everywhere. There's chunky bits you can't bear to think of sticking to the glass. You back away, turning as you stumble.

It's dark. You aren't sure if that's reassuring or terrifying. You reach along the wall until you find the light switches, flipping only one set. The humm of electricity as the fluorescents flicker and turn over is comforting.

"Hello?" You shout, making your way cautiously to the fire extinguisher on the wall, taking it as a makeshift weapon.

You've seen it in movies. It's better than nothing.

Wielding it in front of you, you make your way around the cubicles. You'd like to say you've calmed down but the freak at the doors has flown into a frenzy, you can hear her screams and attempts to get in from the back of the building.

Sure the place is clear you sit, fire extinguisher beside you. Your head falls to your hands and you exhale shakily.

Then scream.

As a rumble rocks the building.

As the lights suddenly die.

As the glass doors shatter.

You get down under the desk, fire extinguisher held to your chest. It's cold and the lever digs into your collar bone, but as you hear the deranged woman stalking through the building, it's your only comfort. You risk a peek over the desk to see there are others with her now.

At least five in total. You know there's a supply closet hidden along the back wall.
