"Lauren!" I heard from behind me.
I turned around and shut my locker door. "Lucinda?" I asked with a raised brow. "What's up?"
"I just thought we should become friends considering we share a class or two." She clarified.
I stared at her blankly, slightly confused. "Oh... Wait, this isn't some dumb thing to get back at Katelyn, is it?" I interrogated, narrowing my eyes as I stook a accusing step forward.
She jerked her head back. "No, I just like your attitude. Where's your homeroom? I'll walk you there."
I stared at her suspiciously. "Right..." I muttered. "I'll just lead the way..."
"Sound good to me!" She mused and went to my side right as the bell rang and we began walking.
"Also, I was wondering why Aphmau wasn't with you since you two are attached to the hip. Is she sick or something?" She spoke and I glanced at her as we walked past people.
I sucked in air through my teeth. "No, she's not. I would be with her right now but when I got here she was talking to Laurance and Garroth and I didn't want to deal with them flirting with her and if I took her away from them they'd probably just follow me." I shrugged at the end of my explanation.
"I see... And I'm sorry Katelyn and I dragged your friend into... that. It was immature." She apologized and I just shrugged again.
"Well, it's highschool. We're bound to be immature." I brushed it off and adjusted my skirt to make sure it didn't go up.
"So... I heard you're from California? What's it like living there?"
"Droughts." I said plainly as we walked up the stairs. "Oh, and sweat."
"Sounds... Fun. I'm sure it's not all that bad." She nudged me with her elbow.
"It's not." I sighed. "But it did mean walking my dogs wasn't all that great. And people were really whiney when it was just below 70°." Lucinda raised an eyebrow.
"Why weren't you?"
"I was raised in Minnesota." I cracked my neck. A bad habit. "40 degrees was okay weather."
Lucinda hummed. "How many friends have you made so far?"
"That I would consider my friends? Two. Aphmau and Travis."
"Oh. Maybe we could make that three!" She cheered and I rolled my eyes with a smile.
"Maybe we could." I grinned. "Also, you are like, really fucking pretty." I stated and she put a hand over her heart.
"Aww, thank you! You're so sweet, and you are gorgeous! Love the eyeshadow." She smiled as I stopped infront of my homeroom door.
I returned another smile and waved to her before entering my class, just to see Garroth and Laurance leaving.
"Hi Lauren." "Hey Lauren."
"Hi?" I raised a brow as I sat in my seat and placed my bag down. I looked over at Aphmau and she gave me a nervous giggle. "I don't wanna know anything." I replied and got up again, going over to my favourite person ever.
"Zane!" I cheered as I stood infront of him.
"No." He said coldly.
"Come on! How was your weekend?" I pressed and leaned forward a bit.
"None of your business, now leave me alone."
I rolled my eyes with a small smile. "Aw, I love your stubbornness. So seriously, how was it?"

FanfictionI made adjustments because of the problematic content in the series, but this was a huge part of my childhood and couldn't help but fall back into it. It's a self insert rather than an oc insert, I just changed my family's names and home town.
