"Homeschool, huh?"

"Yeah!"

"That sounds awesome!"

"Uh, not really. Then again it kind of depends on how you go about it. I just, honestly wanted to be alone and play my online games. I kind of regret doing that because I don't really have any friends in real life."

I stood between them, listening to the conversation as I shifted my weight between my legs every few moments.

"Real life? What does that mean?"

"It means she has online friends." I stated bluntly. This school day was getting on my nerves already.

The boy with white hair bit his lip. Travis Valcrum, with he/him pronouns, seemed slightly taken aback. I had only talked to him once to ask what he wanted to be called and that was that.

"Oh.. That's cool. Glad you're not totally alone."

"I'm not alone silly! I have Lauren." She smiled and nudged me for emphasis. I just hummed in response. "What about you?"

"I have one friend that attends this school. He's a sophomore and he's really cool! He dated two girls at the same time!" He beamed with a proud grin but I just raised my eyebrow and crossed my arms.

"Wow. Uh, two girls?" Aphmau questioned, seeming almost as unimpressed as I was. "You think that's cool?"

"Was it polyamory or was he playing them?" I asked and he looked confused.

"Polyamory...?" He mumbled. "What's that?-"

"So he was cheating." I concluded.

"He sounds like a total player." Aphmau nodded.

"He is. I mean, I'm girl crazy but I'm not that girl crazy. I don't think I'd ever be that confident to approach a girl, let alone ask two on a date."

"Yeah, that sounds like a lot of effort." Aphmau nodded, making me elbow her lightly. She looked at me in confusion and I shook my head.

"Don't feed into it." I whispered in an almost scolding manner.

"So... When do you think they're gonna let us in?" He asked. We both looked back at him.

Almost as if it were cued, the teacher started talking again. "Alright class, it's our turn to head into the gymnasium."

I leaned to Aphmau slightly and whispered. "Perfect timing." She nodded, still looking forward.

"You guys are free to mingle-"

'If someone says mingle one more time-'

"-and get to know more about the school clubs, and meet your upperclassmen until the bell rings.."

"Sir?" Somebody spoke. Nicole, I think.

"Yes, Mrs. Von Ronsenburg?"

I was right.

"Once the bell rings do we head back to homeroom?" They asked. Their voice was so cute honestly.

"Ah! Great question. When the bell rings you all will be going to your last class of the day listed on your schedule. Then after that, congratulations! Your first day of highschool will be over."

"R-really?" Aphmau squeaked from my left.

"Wow, that went by fast." Travis added as I pulled out my schedule from my waist band and looked at the last class.

'Oh, werewolf class. Alright, whatever.'

"E-excuse me sir! Uh, what about our other classes?" Aphmau asked as I put an arm around her shoulder.
