We just came back down on the ground from the Storm Cloud Cave and some people were waiting for us with weapons or magic ready to attack. A man came out from the shadows and asked a question "Why have you opened the door to the Storm Clouds?". I looked around to see them completely surrounding us. "We have a quest to fulfil and we needed to help from the Shadow Weavers from the Storm Cloud Cave" I said earning various looks from Astra and the rest of the group. Although I had explained what reason we opened the door for, they still came closer to us ready to attack. The man who asked the question earlier put his hand up as a sign to stop them from moving closer "Come with us to our camp and we shall solve this situation through a talk" he said as the people who were with him complained about his decision. I looked at the others and slowly nodded back to the man who gave the offer.
We followed him through the forest being watched over as if they were expecting us to attack them. "My name is Aric. I am the leader of the Lumiere Guardians of these forests" the man called Aric introduced himself as. "I am Basil, crown prince of Alastar" I introduced myself as I continued introducing the others pointing at them "These are Raphael and Sunspot or Spot, the twin Storm Raiders of the Desert, Tabitha of the mystical forest, Lynx, a guardian from the Great Library in the Ice Kingdom and Astra, my twin sister and guardian of the lake Blancnoir". "We could have introduced ourselves you know" Spot said. I shrugged it off with a nervous laugh. I looked forward again towards the path as Aric separated a few bushes away from each other and pressed a stone on the wall. The ground then began to tremble slightly as a new path opened up.
"Here we are. Welcome to our campsite" Aric said. The others began to go their separate ways towards small huts made either on top of a tree or made by stones and leaves. There were women with their children by a fire in the middle of the campsite. We followed Aric inside a hut and sat down as we discussed our reasons of being far away from home and opening the passageway to the Storm Clouds. "I see, so you are searching for the 'light' to restore the lake" Aric confirmed with his hand on his chin thinking a bit hard. He then looked up again and clapped his hands together announcing "You are welcome to stay here temporarily before you set of again". We looked at him in shock as he said that we could stay for a while. "I know it seems weird preparing to attack you then say that you are welcome to stay here, but think of it as a little repayment for earlier" Aric explained further chuckling slightly at the expressions our faces wore.
We went out of the hut only to see that there was a feast. Aric invited us to join them in their feast. One by one me and the rest of the group went to get some food and sat us down by the campfire. There was dancing, music and singing as we ate our food. Everybody seemed very joyful and had very large smiles that covered their faces. "I want everyone to welcome our guests for tonight" Aric said as stood up and gestured towards us. "They are on a quest looking for a valuable item to restore a magic lake. Let us wish them good luck for their journey through this feast!" he continued as everybody cheered. The night had been very fun. The twins had joined in the dancing around the campfire and Astra, Lynx and Tabitha conversed with some women and children in the campsite. I sat and conversed with Aric about the Lumiere Guardians. The next day we had all packed again to continue our journey to the next riddle. We bid our farewell getting waves from the people and some 'good lucks' on the way.
"So, do any of you have an idea about where the next riddle is?" I asked out of the blue. "I might have an idea about where the next place is" Lynx said making us all turn to her. I thought about the riddle which said:
Look deep into me for I show what you desire,
Reflections of your most precious memories,
Your past and your future.
Look into me and I shall show you who you really are.
"Where is it then?" Tabitha asked as Lynx answered "Crystal Cove, the home of the reflecting mirrors that show us our desires, memories and our future". There is such place? "Yes, there is" Astra said as if she had read my mind. Astra pulled out the map from her satchel and took a look at it. Everyone went around her to see where Crystal Cove would be. "We are around here and Crystal Cove is around that area” Astra said pointing at the two places on the map. We began walking again towards the place, but something about the name gives me the chills, as if there was something more to it than just showing us our desires, memories and future.
It has been a very peaceful journey since the Great Library. There have been no monsters to attack us lately during our journey, minus the Shadow Weavers who protected the cave, but they didn't actually attack us. I just hope this peaceful journey continues, I thought just as a big dragonfly-like creature with two scorpion-like tails came flying in front of us. Great, I just jinxed myself. The monster lunged at us, trying to hit us with its tail. I ducked and rolled away from the tail as it struck again and pulled out my sword from the sheath. I ran at it with the twins as the girls shot magic at it. I managed to hit it, but was tossed back to the ground. The tail I had hit had gotten no damage. I look towards the twins who also noticed that the places they had hit the monster had gotten no damage. The girls magic was making damage, but not enough to kill it. I clutched on my sword and thought about what I could do to help. My sword glowed blue and I felt power radiate through it. I ran towards the monster again jumping to avoid the tail and try to slice through its back. My swords sliced through the monster cutting it in half and the glow had disappeared. "Your sword glowed blue" Raphael said as the others were looking at me with shock. "I guess it did, but all I thought about was how I could help kill the monster" I said looking at my sword before putting it back in the sheath. "You have a bit of magic in you that you can transfer to your weapons to fight" Astra said snapping out of her shock and explained further about the abilities I had just shown. I guess I inherited a bit magic from my mom, but sadly I can't actually use my abilities like Astra, Tabitha and Lynx.
We all continued our journey walking towards the Crystal Cove as we all wondered what trial we had to pass to be able to find the next riddle. At last we had finally arrived, but there was nothing but a huge mountain in the area. We had split up trying to look for the entrance and gathered again on our meeting place. "There are no entrances to this place. The whole place around this mountain is nothing, but a wall of stones" Spot said after looking for entrances. "I'm so tired!" Raphael complained as he sat down on a rock making it sink slightly down on the ground. The ground trembled slightly as an opening on the mountain wall appeared and we all looked at Raphael who blinked in shock "I'm....Sorry?" he said. Hidden entrances caused to appear by pressing something, how come I never thought of it while I was looking. I took a mental note to remember checking if there are any triggers next time we would have to search for an entrance. Now in front of us was a cove of crystals. We finally found the place where the next riddle is.
