"Dad, why is it that no Eurylanians are allowed here? Isn't the war over already?" asked a curious young boy. "You see my little prince; even though the war has already ended, there are still grudges that the kingdoms hold against each other". The boy thought for a while and smiled understanding the answer. "When I grow up and become king, I will make peace with Euryele so that there will be no war to happen again". The father of the prince chuckled and ruffled his son's hair telling him that he can do it.

I woke up rough and thought about the dream. 'That dream again, I was a stupid child to think about doing so back then' I thought while walking to the throne room. I opened the big door to the throne room and walk towards the king, kneeling to him as a sign of respect. I felt him staring hard at me then he said, "Raise your head, Basil". I raised my head and stood up looking at the king, my grandfather.

Yes, my grandfather was the king. My father had died patrolling the border between Alastar and Euryele, trying to reason with a Eurylanian that they could live in peace and to let one of the knights go. Because of the attempt to reason, he was attacked and killed for what he foolishly believed in. Eurylanians are horrible people just like what grandfather says, they don't care about any person at all and they are savages trying to ruin the whole country.

"Yes, grandfather? How can I be of assistance?" I asked. Grandfather looked at me with a look that I knew far too well, a Eurylanian was the problem. "As you know, you are the next in line for the throne. I would like you to find this Eurylanian 'Guardian of the Lake Blancnoir' and acquire her power to prove that you are loyal to Alastar unlike your foolish father who tried to reason with one". I nodded and bowed before heading off to my chamber to get ready for the trip. I looked at my desk and took my necklace with me and stuffed it in my pocket, I still remembered when dad had given it to me.

"Always wear this necklace; it will always protect you when I am not with you. This will also lead you to your long lost sister." Dad said as he smiled to me.

Even though I say that dad was foolish, I don't actually hate him. I just deny the fact that he died because of his belief on bringing peace between the kingdoms and end the grudges between one another. 'I should not be thinking about this' I thought as I shook my head. I ran to the stables to get my horse and head out for the forest.

When I rode out for the main gates of the kingdom, I saw my people waving, smiling and wishing me good luck on my journey. When I got to the gates I saw three knights waiting for me, they saluted and explained that grandfather had sent them to go with me on my journey to protect me and supervise me on how my mission to find the guardian was.

As I got to the forest with the knights, we had set up camp for the night. I looked up in the skies seeing all the shimmering stars. I pulled out my necklace thinking of where and who my sister was, or if she even knew that she had a brother. I closed my eyes and let myself succumb to darkness.

In the middle of the night I woke up hearing strange noises, I decided to listen more carefully if my ears were deceiving me. It was the knights who were having a conversation with each other, the only thing I could hear from it were the words: guardian, monsters, and evil before I dozed off again.

Waking up abruptly in the morning, the knights had already hunted our breakfast and found berries that we could eat. I still couldn't take off my thoughts about what I heard of last night.

We walked in silence through the forest until we heard a loud growl; it was definitely not from one of us. We took out our swords and got ready for combat. A huge monster then came out from behind the trees and roared. It looked like a wolf that was about as tall as me; it had white fur with long and sharp canine teeth, red eyes with a scar on one of them and sharp claws which looked like it could cut any objects. It then turned its head and looked at us hungrily and bloodthirsty. "Everyone watch each other's back and if the beast cannot be defeated find a place where he can't find you!" I ordered even though it sounded cowardly at the end.

We faced the monster, but it was too strong. Its sharp claws managed to graze us even though we dodged. The only thing to do now was run as planned, but in the end the beast had followed me as I got separated from the knights. I was cornered so I unsheathed my sword which I pointed at the beast and got ready for round two that was until someone came.
