I stood shocked from where I was. It was a girl that came out from the bushes and walked towards the beast. She had her arms stretched out towards the beast trying to calm it down saying, "Devlin, calm down please. I don't want to hurt you". Is she crazy!? She must be if she is trying to calm that filthy bloodthirsty beast!

The beast she called Devlin still looked a bit bloodthirsty, but it was getting a bit calmer and its eyes were looking clearer than how it looked like when I first saw it. I saw the mysterious girl touch the beast and the beast rubbed its head to her hand sitting down looking as if it was sorry.

I stood there by the side lines completely dumbfounded and confused. Who in Valencia was she?! Could she be a witch or a beast tamer, for I doubt that she is the guardian who protects the 'light'. I mean look at her! She wore a knee high dress which I believe used to be white and a red, tattered cloak.

She whispered something to the beast before turning around to face me. The beast had already run back to where it came from. The girl walked closer towards me, narrowing her piercing blue eyes. "Who are you and why have you come to this forest? From what I can see is that you are not a mere traveller" she asked demandingly. I cannot look like a coward in front of her so I straightened up my back and held my head up high answering, "You should pay some respect to me for I am the noble prince of Alastar".

Her gaze was still looking at me firmly without showing any fear of getting punished for disrespecting royalty. "Why should I tell you, anyways?" I stuttered out. She glared at me and lifted her head high making her look high and mighty. The girl put her hand in her cloak; I got curious and gripped my sword if she was to attack me. She took out her hand from her cloak and threw dust? I saw her cover her nose and mouth, when I was about to do so, my vision blurred and I blacked out.

I woke up hearing a clash of two metals and there stoodthe girl with two frying pans. I analysed my current situation, which was me being tied on to a chair with an enchanted rope. I looked at her unafraid, but inside my head I was freaking out trying to think of a plan to escape. She narrowed her eyes at me with her hands by her hips and asked the same question about why I was in the forest. I turned my head not wanting to answer until a small creature of some sort kicked me on my cheek. "Ouch, what was that for?!" I yelled at the creature looking at it as if it had four heads. "For your information I'm a nymph and before you ask if I am a mind reader, I'm not, It's only because you are too easy to read", she said quite angrily.

They asked me again and again, but I won't give up to their persuasion. That is until they began to look all sadistic and scary. I began panicking; oh what were they going to do to me? They were going to murder me or worse! Maybe even torture me until I talked. I felt their gaze and when I looked at them, they stood with a huge maniac grin scaring the life out of me making me shout, "I give! I give! Just please don't murder me!!" They suddenly smiled gently, but still giving me the chills on my spine.

I spilled the beans saying every detail about why I was in the forest except for the part with my long lost sister. They smiled sickly sweet again and each took turns telling me that if I ever tried to find the 'light', they would personally torture me or feed me to the beasts which they call behemoths. I nodded in fear and thought about how fast their mood swings were. They finally released me from the chair, but they still threatened me about the lake.

I turned to them and asked their names, but they just answered with:" Its common courtesy to say you own first". I laughed nervously at the comment and introduced myself, "I am Basil of Alastar, prince and heir to the thrown of Alastar". The nymph then introduced herself as Tabitha and the cloaked girl's guardian, but the girl's introduction was what surprised me the most as she said" My name Astra and I am the Eurylanian guardian of the lake Blancnoir". I had doubted that fact in the beginning and never expected it. I stood there wide eyed at what she said and she smirked at me.

I wondered about what was going to happen to me. They were not going to let me go back to Alastar until they trusted me completely. The knights could be out there somewhere looking for me after we got separated. I was leaded to the guestroom of their small hut where there were very old looking furniture and candles serving as the lighting of the room. I was about to complain, but I decided to shut my mouth thinking about the consequences I could get from an angry nymph. I blew out the candles and tucked myself to sleep, but not before hearing the quiet voice of Astra saying, "Sleep well". For a Eurylanian, she was different and she was kind.
