"Uh...Hello? Mitchell?" Basil said trying to get Mitchell's attention. "Why?" Mitchell began saying. I raised a brow wondering what he meant. "Why did you come here?" Mitchell continued to ask. We had already told him before that we were searching for the light. "Can you not stay and play with me instead?" I looked to my right where Basil stood confused like the rest of us, but at the same time, he looks like he knows something.
My instincts kicked in and I barely dodged a water drill. I looked as it passed me and turned to face the attacker. Mitchell raised his head with a big smile on his face and a crazed look in the eyes. I turned around hearing the water drill's sound only to see it turning around to attack us again. "You may never leave! You are my friends!" Mitchell laughed like the child he was. Some friend I thought. The whole place around us began to shake as Mitchell laughed.
'Don't leave me'. What was that? 'I don't want to be alone anymore'. I looked around to see if there was someone else with us, but as my eyes fell on Mitchell I heard the voice again. 'I am alone now. Mommy and daddy went away. They were with me, but they left me'. It must be Mitchell, but this voice sounded sad. Unlike the Mitchell who is talkative and happy, this voice sounds lonely and empty.
A soul as lonely and lost as others
The riddle! This was the soul we were to seek out. The one who guarded the 'light' and Lynx had a clue of who he was when we met him. How are we going to make him stop? 'Please don't leave me. I don't want to be alone anymore'.
Rafael and Spot swam closer to Mitchell. "You are not alone!" Rafael shouted towards Mitchell which made him stop the water from attacking us. "That's right. Even if your parents are not with you physically..." Spot said. "They are in here" Both the twins said together pointing at their heart. The look Mitchell held was full of confusion as the twins stated those words. "That's right! You are not alone!" I looked to my right to see that Basil was the one who had said it. "You will see your parents once again, but before that day comes, remember that they will always be in your heart" Lynx said. I nodded in agreement with Tabitha and Mitchell ceased the attacks.
"Are they? Are they really in here?" Mitchell asked softly as he pointed to his heart. I nodded as I said "Always". Mitchell bowed his head apologised as we swam to him and told him that it was alright. Mitchell then said "I trust you with the light"
What he had said left us confused as he began to glow. "Thank you", Mitchell said as he was replaced by an orb which shined brightly. The 'light'. All this time Mitchell was the 'light'. I touched the orb to try and grab it. The orb burst into light that went to me and Basil's necklace. Our necklaces shined slightly before it dimmed again. We had finally obtained it. It is time to go home now.
"So that was the 'light'" Raphael said as we walked back towards our ship. "What now?" "What do you mean 'now what'?" Spot asked Raphael. "Well, now that we are finished with this quest on finding the 'light', what are we going to do?" Raphael had a point. What are we going to do after we restore the lake? "Instead of walking all the way on a long journey home, why don't I just open a portal there?" Lynx offered. We turned to Lynx who smiled as we all stated in unison to her "WHY DIDN'T YOU DO THAT WHEN WE WERE LOOKING FOR THE LIGHT?". Lynx only smiled and answered "It's more fun to take the time to get to know each other and travel". We stared at Lynx before she lifted up her hand to create a portal. "Let's go" I said before I stepped in the portal leading home.
As I stepped out I saw the Mythical Forest which was once beautiful, now almost dead. We ran towards the lake Blancnoir and upon arriving I saw Devlin and other Behemoths guarding it. "Astra. You are back" Devlin said coming towards me. I nodded to him as Basil and I took off out necklaces to place the 'light' on the lake.
Our necklaces glowed and the 'light' came out floating towards the center of the lake and began to sink. The lake's colour began coming back as the light spread out to the forest. Every single dying life in the forest came back and was restored. Two small teardrop shaped lights floated towards Basil and I's necklaces from the lake and as it touched them I heard a voice that said 'Your decisions will judge the fate of Valencia'. I wonder what that meant.
A behemoth's roar was heard and I looked at Devlin who nodded at me. I climbed up to his back and told the others to do so. When we arrived to the place we had heard the behemoth roar, we saw something we could not imagine. There laid the behemoth dead with arrows on its back. I heard a groan and looked to see that the behemoth had something in its arms. A head poked out and looked at us terrified and said "Please don't hurt me".
