Children of Prophecy

Astra: Chapter 13

"I feel so-" said Raphael before puking out to the ocean. Tabitha raised her head to say something, but only ended up puking out to the ocean. I sighed at their condition. The waves were calm, yet they were still nauseous. How can Tabitha be nauseous anyway? She was a nymph. The new riddle is leading us to an island this time. But not just any island, it is the Isle of the Lost, an island where lost souls wander around freely. "We seem to be nearing land" Lynx said in her always so calm demeanour. I nodded and looked at Tabitha and Raphael, who still looked horrible, then at Basil who was nervously laughing and at Spot who was shaking his head in disappointment of his twin.

Our ship docked on the island and we climbed down from the ship. "Yes! No more rocking ship!" Raphael exclaimed throwing his arms out as if he was going to hug someone "Finally!" Tabitha said in joy after she flew down from the ship. I shake my head not knowing what to say to Tabitha. The Isle of the Lost, we have finally arrived after three days out in the ocean. Shimmering white sand and a mysterious jungle with a few ruins of stone was in front of us. Lynx began walking towards the jungle and I followed right behind. We walked inside the jungle which was filled with tall jungle trees that had vines dangling down and wild plants everywhere. It seemed to be a peaceful island with no monsters. 

"Lynx, may I ask you something?" Spot asked out of the blue. "What is it?" Lynx inquired as Spot said "How did you find out where to go next?" The question from Spot suddenly made me wonder 'how did she know?' Lynx smiled sweetly as she answered the question "My keywords were: souls, lost and wandering which lead me to think about this place" "But how can you be sure?" Basil then asked. "This is the only place with lost souls that wander around" Lynx answered easily with no problem.

"Oh, we are here" Tabitha said as we came upon a place with many wandering souls that still looked alive, only paler than usual. "This is kind of creepy" Raphael said shaking a bit at the scene. "They will not harm you" I told Raphael as he sighed in relief "But they might do so if you offend them or hurt one of them". Basil scratched the back of his neck and told me "You don't have to scare him". I looked at him with a blank look saying I was not joking about what I said. He then paled and stood beside Raphael, both of them mumbling that it was going to be okay. We walked around the city that was in ruins and looked around for a soul that was supposed to be different from others. The souls merely ignored us and continued with what they were doing. 

"Hey!" a voice shouted. We turned around to see a boy that looked like he was around eleven or twelve with black hair, side bangs and brown eyes. He ran towards us and asked "What are you living people doing in this island?" Looking at the others Lynx then answered "We are looking for something, perhaps you can help us?" The boy smiled widely and pointed to himself "I'm Mitchell and I would be more than happy to help you". "I am Astra and these are Lynx, Tabitha, Raphael and Spot, and my twin brother Basil" I told Mitchell as I pointed out who was who. "Well...What are you guys looking for?" Mitchell asked grinning. This boy, he must be the one the riddle was talking about. "We are looking for a 'light', I am not really sure how it looks like, but I am pretty sure it is an orb of light" Raphael explained. Mitchell crossed his arms and thought hard about what it could be. He then snapped his fingers and said "I might know what and where it is". He then ran to a direction and waved his arm as he shouted "Follow me!"

We followed Mitchell through the jungle and in front of a cave. A cave, I should have known. It is always a cave. "What are you looking at? It's over here" Mitchell said drawing our attention away from the cave as he jumped down a waterfall. We ran towards where jumped and looked at each other thinking if we should follow him and jump or find another way down. Before we could go and find another way down, Raphael slipped and grabbed on to Spot who grabbed on to someone else and so on as we all ended up falling. Everyone was shouting for their dear lives, all except Lynx and Spot who seemed to have figured out something. I closed my eyes as I felt that we were going to die.

Cold water washed over me as we landed on a lake. I opened my eyes and held my breath looking around for Mitchell. Spotting Mitchell I swam towards him as he smiled and said "You don't have to hold your breath, this is a special lake". All of us released the breath we were holding and did not expect that it was true about what he had said. Mitchell began swimming away and we followed after him. We came upon a place with many huge shells that would occasionally open and show their beautiful pearls. Mitchell stopped swimming when we came upon an even bigger shell than the others. We looked at him questionably as he turned around facing us with his bangs covering his eyes.
