I looked at Astra with a slight shock written all over my face, then back at our grandfather who became furious. He charged towards the entrance using the substitute core to wipe out all who stood on his path. Astra put a hand on my shoulder making me look at her. She had a serious expression before we both nodded to run towards the entrance. I used the hilt of my sword to knock out Alastarian guards while Astra blinded them with her magic. A loud explosion came and the ground trembled. Grandfather had blasted through the entrance and entered. He laughed menacingly filled with insanity as he watched the fallen Eurylanian guards. I looked at the vehicle as it moved, destroying everything in its path. A crazy idea came up in my mind before I ran fast towards a certain spot, high enough to not get hit by the vehicle. I waited as the vehicle went under before I readied myself to go on with my crazy idea. "Basil?!" Astra shouted to me nervously "What do you think you're doing?" I looked at Astra and smiled slightly before I tried to ease her saying "Don't worry, I have a plan". While Astra was trying to figure out what my plan was, I jumped down straight landing on the vehicle as Astra called out to me.

The guards on the vehicle turned towards me and attacked me. I dodged their attacks and knocked them out. Guards suddenly came out from under the vehicle and began to get advantage over the fight. An orb of light came towards the guards and I covered my eyes just before it exploded to blind me along with the guards. I looked towards the direction it came from and saw Astra standing with her hand stretched out after sending the light. Astra walked to me and slapped my arm, scolding me about my crazy idea before she looked at me sternly "You're not going alone". I nodded at her as we continued going towards grandfather. Once we arrived at the top, we came face to face with grandfather. "I see that you have managed to defeat my guards on your way" grandfather said with a scowl on his face "Nevertheless, I shall end you both!" Grandfather began using the substitute core to fire magic at us. Astra and I dodged the blasts that hindered us from getting near him. "We can't get any close to him!" I said to Astra while I concentrated on dodging the attacks.

My necklace and Astra's began to glow which distracted us from dodging. I looked up to see a magic orb coming towards me at a fast speed. Knowing that I did not have time to dodge, I braced myself and waited to get hit, but the hit never came. "What's happening?" Grandfather exclaimed as he looked at the scene before him. I looked up and saw a shield of light that blocked the attack and reflected it to somewhere else. My necklace kept glowing and floated towards Astra's necklace like hers did towards mine. Astra and I walked slowly towards each other to let our necklaces meet. When our necklaces met, light exploded and blinded us all. As the light dimmed, both Astra and I glowed with white auras surrounding us. "What was that?" Grandfather asked awed at what had happened "That power, I must attain it!" I looked at grandfather who lunged towards Astra and I with the substitute core in his hand to create a shield against any upcoming attacks. He reached towards my necklace trying to rip it from my neck. Astra fired magic at him and grandfather smirked at Astra's attempt. The magic hit the barrier around him and slowly pierced it until it dropped only to hit grandfather. I stepped back immediately and stabbed the vehicle with my sword without thinking. A magic circle appeared under the vehicle and grandfather with chains that came out to restrain them.

Grandfather tried to break the chains with the substitute core's power, but the chains restrained him further. The substitute core's power began to flicker before it vanished leaving an empty orb without power. "No!" grandfather yelled as he had lost his power source. The vehicle came to a stop when the chains disappeared. Astra walked towards grandfather with an orb of magic ready to fire and kill him. "You have caused war because of your greed and for that you must pay" Astra said with anger and readied herself to fire the orb at him. "No!" I said firmly which made Astra and grandfather to look at me. "What do you mean 'no'?" Astra asked me as she dropped her hand making the orb to dissipate "He has caused war and is filled with greed!" I shook my head and looked straight towards Astra "Even so, he is still our grandfather". I kept looking straight at Astra before she gave up. Astra looked down and said "I trust your judgement, but he will pay for what he has done". I looked back at grandfather who cried happily that his life was spared. Pulling up my sword from the vehicle, the chains that restrained grandfather dissolved only to be replaced by Astra's magical restrains on his arms.

A light shone on top of where Astra, grandfather and I stood. The battle on the grounds stopped to look at the burst of light as a lady appeared. The lady had long platinum blond hair with a headband that had a blue crystal and wore an elegant blue dress. In her hand she held a gold staff with designs carved on it. "This man has started a war because of his greed and yet you still forgive him?" The lady asked me. I looked at her and said "Even so, he is still family by blood and killing him would not be worth for what he has done". The lady nodded at me and looked at the crowd of people who stared. "I am Lucille, it was I who entrusted the 'light' to the first guardian".
