Englands pov...

27 years, and only to save humanity from the covenant. I couldn't imagine what he's going through, even with the few hours we spent being caught up and taught on how the new technology and weapons worked. It seemed they weren't wasting any time on having us prepared for a fight. Now here I was standing next to my younger brother we starred into space "I'm sorry" I was surprised that alfred was even apologizing to us.

"What for?" I asked, my gaze leaving the window as we now stood on one of the many ships that was apart of the Morning Star fleet as it orbited earth, "that the UNSC is asking you to fight, *sigh* you shouldn't have to involve yourselves in this" he said with a guilty tone, I sighed and patted his arm "your one to talk I recall you doing the same" I light joked at him earning a small laugh "and besides it was my fault we ended up here" I said to him, "and it isn't your fault, you need all the help you can have even if we have to stay " I smiled.

My smile then strained as he looked at me with those sad blue eyes. "Still, I'm sorry," he again apologized, "dont be," he sighed and placed his helmet on. "Alfred," another voice said, I saw alfred move his hand and pull a small metal chip from the back of the helm. Holding it in his hand, a holographic emerges from it. She was a mix of blues and yellows. It was best to say she looked like marlin monroe, but she wore a turtleneck with the sleeves rolled to her elbows, and her pants only went to her calves with small two inch heels.

"What up lucy?" He asked her, I looked at her curiously, having never seen anything like her before. I was sure she knew I was staring, but she didn't seem to pay me any mind. "Admiral Ellison wants a word with you," she said. He thanked her, and he placed her into my hands.

"I'll be back soon, lucy here can show you and the others around or answer any questions while I'm gone." He said, with a reashuring smile as he left the room. I was dumbfounded that he left her with me. She seemed like something that was important, so I held her as gently as I could.

I would've accidentally dropped her if I hadn't seen her at all, but here I was looking at her. "Well, this is awkward," she commented, I couldn't help but agree with her. "The others are in the mess hall." she informed me with a soft smile.

"Um, if you dont mind me asking, but... what are you?" I asked her curiously. She giggled as she made herself comfortable on my palm as we traversed the metallic hall.

"I am an A.I its short for artificial intelligence " she said, "I gathered that much" I said bluntly, "well that's the basic answer " she stated, as I walked with her I was astonished at how they were made.

From a high ranked officer who was recently passed, her brain was scanned, and with all the knowledge and capabilities from the host, she was created.

Lucy was what many called a 'smart' A.I, she was far more advanced and capable than the 'dumb' A.I. I couldn't help but be fascinated with everything she told me, unfortunately I arrived at the mess hall to see everyone else chatting away with a few orbital drop shock troopers or ODST for short, they seemed to just as fascinated as I was about everything.

I walked over and sat next to Matthew, who was listening intently to the stories his elder twin did on a few missions. "And there we were bleeding and freezing our ass's off, we could see at least two or three squadrons moving in the distance" one talked, "oh and don't forget murphy cryin for mommy in that back" another joked, murphy the man at the end of the table nearly choking on his drink before he could defend himself.

"Anyways..." the first guy said, " we were hiden on a cliff waiting for reinforcement, commander Jones told us to stay put and he'll lead them away, " he continued. " So he moves off, and our squad leader tells me to follow him, so I did." I lent forward my elbow resting on the table as I listened. "So I caught up with him and told him why I was there, and he wasn't particularly happy about it, but I guess he didn't want to argue," he said.
