Niyati pov
Living in a forest is hard.
But it's not when you're with your family. I had lived in the forest till the death of my pitashree.
I had never liked Hastinapur since the day we came there after my Pitashree's death. It gave nothing but bad vibes.
I roam in the forest, disguised, in hopes that I'll find something to eat.
I really missed my weapons.
Atleast they never disappointed me.
***It's been a year since Pitashree's death. I still have nightmares about it. But I don't tell anyone.
Because I don't want to upset Mata or my brothers.
I did not shed a tear since the day of Pitashree's death. Not even when that spoilt Duryodhan and his mamashree plotted against Bheem.I will never forget the look on Nakul's and Sahadev's face when they saw my bawl me eyes out. It scared them.
I will never let anyone see me cry.Today is the day my brothers go to gurur kul for mastering in weapons. And to be honest, I want go with them. I have learnt how to fight, but I want to master it too.
It never hurts to be prepared.“Mata, why is it that only Rajkumars can go to guru kul. Why do I and Dushala have to go to Kanya kul. They don't teach us anything there
I think all they will teach is ‘how to get stressed by everyone and still not say anything’.”“Putri, I told you, I have no problem about you going to guru kul with your brothers. But Maharaj Dhritarashtra does not like you joining them.”
“It's not him Mata, it's Mamashree Shakuni. He doesn't want me to go there.”
-----“Didi, we will miss you, who will trouble us now?” Nakul says, tears brimming in his and Sahadev's eyes.
“Arre, Bheem is there na. He'll trouble you for me. But Bheem, don't eat their food, that's not the way to trouble someone.” I ordered Bheem while Nakul and Sahadev laugh out loud.
“And you two, you also trouble jyesth. He's always very serious.” I tell Nakul and Sahadev.
“Didi, I really wish you could come with us. I never want to be seperated from you.” Arjun says.“Arjun-”
“I know didi, it's impossible. But I just want to say that when I come back, in fact when we all come back, we will never be seperated. And that we will always protect you, no matter what.”
“Yes Niyati, we promise you that.” Bhrata Yudhishthir says while the others nod.
My heart melts hearing this.“Believe me, I know you won't let anything happen to me. You guys are way too protective.”
“That we are and always will be.” Bheem declares.“Always be alert and careful, I don't trust Duryodhan and his brothers.”
I say, staring at them.“Niyati there's no need to worry. They're our brothers, they won't harm us.” Bhrata Yudhishthir says.
They then go away.
“If only Bhratashree. I had not worried about them until they tried to kill Bheem. Hey Narayan, protect my brothers.” I prayed.
------“Not like that, like this,” Lord Parshuram tells me, rotating his sword.
Yes, Lord Parshuram.
I ran away before they could send me to Kanya kul.
It's been 7 years since that incident.
No one really knows where I am.
Not even Mata.I know I must have worried her but if had I told her about my plan, or where I am, Maharaj Dhritarashtra would have known.
This is because my mata is innocent.
She still thinks that we have good relations with the Kauravas even after they tried to kill Bheem. This is my last year here.
After this I'll have to back. But I don't mind, I will be trained. If they even think of harming my family, they'll die a horrible death.“Now you two will fight each other.” he says to me and my partner, Karn.
Karn. He always gave me brotherly vibes. He never failed to cheer me up, just like the Pandavas.
“Bhrata Karn, you will lose this time.” I say and we begin to fight.
And indeed, he lost.I was drinking water before I went back to Karn and my guru.
When I went towards them, I heard Lord Parshuram shout.
“You have betrayed my trust on you. I would have never trained you if I knew you were a sutputra. I curse you, that when the needful time comes, you will forget all the trainings I have you! Your education will fail you!”“Bhrata Karn, you're a sutputra?”
I ask, my voice shaking.
“Yes behen. I did this because nobody would have trained me if I told them my true identity. No one. Please understand behen, I did this all just to have some respect.”“I know Bhrata. I understand. I don't care if you're a sutputra. You're Karn, my bhrata.”
***
I guess what they say is true.
Betrayal never comes from enemies. They're always from your close ones.
I am a living proof of that.***
