The mating season symptoms hit Jisu at exactly the wrong moment. They were buried in tons of homework and had lots to study for upcoming tests. Jisu was irritated, overwhelmed and quick to lash out at people.
Amara wasn't bothered by it. She continued doing her usual shenanigan and was buried deep in her books, trying to study for her exams.
Raven, however, wasn't as buried in the books as the two of them. In this period before Christmas break, they had tons of practice lessons about healing people and dealing with nasty wounds. She had gotten the habit of talking about these lessons in a bit too much detail when they were eating. Amara got lousy more often than not and needed to leave the table before puking.
'That sounds awesome!', Jisu exclaimed, looking at Raven with wide eyes as she was talking about fixing a wound created by a werewolf. Amara had left the table five minutes ago to get to the library. 'And you can do most of it with your magic?!', Raven nodded frantically.
'There are some injuries we cannot fix with magic.', she explained, taking a sip of her tea. 'Like broken bones, for instance. IF we fix them with magic, you have the chance that the body doesn't recognize that it's fixed and they will try to heal it again, which can cause double bones.', Jisu visibly shuddered and looked away, shaking her head quickly.
'That's so gross...', Raven continued eating her dinner.
'But we try to do most of the healing without magic.', Raven continued her talk. 'It's just way better for the body to use no magic.', Jisu finished her drink, nodding slowly.
'You're quite ahead of the rest of your class.', she mumbled. 'Don't you have all A grades?',
'Hmh.', she hummed. 'I just try my best. I really like healing! So maybe that's an advantage for me.', Jisu hummed, her eyes focused on something else behind Raven.
'Why is that ugly chicken staring at me?', She whispered, pointing at someone. Raven turned around, looking at what Jisu was pointing at. It was Jade and her group. Her demon was looking intensely at Jisu, all three heads.
'I don't know but Jade isn't staring at you.', Jisu snorted, a smile playing on her lips.
'You know what I mean.', Jisu laughed, pushing Raven's side.
Raven giggled.
'I know, yes. But isn't that chicken always looking stupid?', Raven asked, putting her bag on her shoulder. 'He's always glaring at us. They probably want something.',
'Something? They want you to get into their group!', Jisu exclaimed, standing up and waiting for Raven to collect everything. Raven made a disgusted face.
'Ew, please no.', Raven and Jisu walked toward the exit of the dining hall. 'Let's just ignore them.', Raven linked their arms together and skipped next to Jisu. 'You have to study for your tests.', Jisu rolled her eyes.
'Don't remind me.', she groaned. 'I don't want to study...',
'You have to get good grades!', Raven said. 'You know that yourself.',
'That doesn't mean I'm eager to study.', Jisu said as if she was claiming the obvious. 'I hate studying!',
'You've told us that many times.', The girls arrived at the library, joining Amara on the table. She glared at Raven.
'No more word about your damn lessons.', she warned. 'I don't want it. No. Never again!',
'I think it's interesting.', Jisu shrugged. Amara rolled her eyes.
'Because you almost were a healer yourself.', she exclaimed. 'You think it's interesting, I think it's disgusting, thank you very much.',
Raven granted Amara her wish and didn't talk about her lessons again. Jisu had collected a few books and was now making a summary to pick the most important things out of it. Amara was practically built into her little space by the many books she had put around herself. Raven was chilling with only needing two books to continue her essay.
