Ch 23

It's not that I didn't believe Donatello, well, maybe just a little, but the thought of not going to school or back home was too ridiculous to even consider. I didn't feel guilty for running away, but he looked terribly distressed. Maybe I should've calmed him down a bit before leaving...

I showered and got ready for school, without even seeing anyone at home. Guess they already left.

Before leaving I heard a soft buzz and steps coming down the stairs. I panicked, and without even seeing if it was one of my family members, I took off to school.

The rest of the day wasn't much better. As it went by, I grew increasingly paranoid. I couldn't wait to be back in the lair.

"Hey, did you lose something?" asked a cute Asian boy.

"What? No. Why?" I asked confused at his question. I had been just about to leave school when he asked me.

"Because you keep looking around like you lost something," he explained smiling.

"Oh, um, I was looking for a friend. We were going to walk home together, but I guess she forgot," I lied.

"Oh, okay. Well, see your around," he said and left with a final wave.

I turned and walked as fast as I could to the lair.

It was getting dark, and now i was panicked. What if I get kidnapped right now? Would I be experimented on? That's what aliens usually do, right?

"Psst!" I heard from a dark alley. I refused to look and kept waking.

"Psssssttt!! Y/n!!! It's me, Mikey!!!" I stopped, and cautiously looked over. Thankfully it was him.

"Oh! Mikey!" I said gratefully as I walked into the darkness with him.

"Y/n! How could you leave?! Didn't Donnie tell you the Kraang are after you?! You should have seen the tantrum he threw! He woke us up with his non-stop yelling!" he said almost crossly.

"Well I had to go home and to school!" I defended myself.

Thud Raph and Leo landed on either side of me.

"Mikey! We said quickly get her and we'd discuss this at home! You think it's safe for her to be out here in the open?" asked an annoyed Leo.

"Bu-" he was cut off Raph.

"God Y/n! Do you know what we had to go through for hours while we waited for it to get dark? Donnie was a pain in the ass! I swear, if he wasn't already beaten-up, I would have made sure he was!"

I couldn't say anything. They had been worried and I could only say rude things in return.

"Let's go, Y/n," said Leo. I nodded and took off with them.
