Ch.27

Once we opened the manhole, we realized it was pouring pretty hard.

"Oh, maybe we should go back Y/n. We'll come back tomorrow night," suggested Donnie.

"What? Because it's raining? No way! I love rain. I'm going," I said almost pushing Donatello out of the way to climb out.

"But you don't have an umbrella! You could get sick!"

"I'll keep that in mind," I said climbing out.

"Chill Don, it's just a little rain. It's not like Y/n's allergic to rain. Wait. Are you?!" asked Mikey now worried.

"Nope, I'm not allergic to rain Mikey," I assured.

"At least put your hood on!"ordered Donnie, to whom I gave my 'you can't make me do crap' look.

Donnie sighed in defeat and Raph laughed

"Let's go get ice cream!" said Mikey

The turtles kept watch from outside while I went into a corner shop. While choosing which bag of chips to add to my basket, I ran into the cute Asian guy from school.

"Hey, wow, you're drenched! Did you forget your umbrella?" he asked seeing my hair dripping from the rain.

"Oh, yeah, but I don't mind the rain," I assured.

"I never did get your name."

"Y/n, you?" I asked picking a bag of chips.

"Nobutada," he smiled warmly.

Donnie's P.O.V.

"Hey, who's she talking to?" I asked aloud seeing Y/n talking and smiling with a boy from outside.

"Some guy, maybe she knows him from school?" Leo suggested.

"But look at the way she's smiling! I may not be able to see it from here, but I know she's blushing! Now she's laughing! What did he say that was so funny?!"

"Donnie chill, you're going all psycho-jealous-boyfriend over a girl you're not even going out with! So what if she's laughing and blushing? They're human, you're not. Get over it," said Raph harshly, but with a hint of a sad, defeated look in his eyes.

"You don't have to remind me!" I yelled back at him, annoyed.

Y/n and the boy left the store together and I could see her refuse to take his umbrella. They waved and I swear my heart felt like it would shatter soon after seeing their exchange.

"Guys, we can go home now. I got what I needed!" Y/n called.

"Yes!" said Mikey excitedly.

Y/n's P.O.V.

As we walked back to the lair, I showed and explained what everything was.

I slowly took out a Space Heroes cup and enjoyed seeing Leo's mouth drop. I tossed it and he happily caught it.

"Is this for me?" he asked dumbfounded.

"Just thought you'd appreciate it," I said smiling at his expression of joy.

"What do I get?" whined Mikey.

"You get," I said as I took out a box of 'Hot Pockets', "this."

"Woah," he said taking the cold box. "It's like a burrito and pizza combined! Why didn't I think of that?! Thanks Y/n!"

Raph was looking expectant, by trying not to look expectant. I smirked and gave him a ninja magazine, as I had often seen him reading one.

He nodded and took it. This is his way of saying thanks, I guess.

Donnie had not said, or even looked my way since I came back from the store.

"Hey Donnie," I started.

"Yeah?" he asked not even looking up at me. He 'looked' preoccupied with his T-phone.

Mikey had tried to trip Raph so, naturally, Raph started to chase him through the sewers. Leo sighed and started to jog after them to keep Raph from doing much to Mikey.

"Well, I couldn't find anything you'd actually like at the store, so I didn't get you anything in particular..." I started.

Donnie's P.O.V.

Of course she forgot me. She was with him. I was probably the last thing on her mind.

"Donnie, are you mad?" she asked me while I was lost in my jealous thoughts.

"What? Of course not!" I said as normally as I could.

"Next time just give me a request and I'll get you two!" she said trying to make amends.

I smiled down at her and nodded. She seemed relieved and started describing the ice cream she bought for everyone.

"Hey, um, Donnie?" said Y/n abruptly.

"Hmm?" I looked over to read her expressions.

"I think we're being followed," she said stopping.

"What?" I stopped as well.

"Sh! Don't you hear footsteps?" she said, now worried.

I took my bo-staff out as I took a stance in front of Y/n.

"Ooofff!" a voice came from a bit down the tunnel.

"Ooff?" I said surprised.

"Y/n? Are you down here?" asked a boy's voice from around the corner.

"Nobutada? Donnie! He must have followed us here!"

"Oh, God! Y/n! Run!" yelled Nobutada after seeing me.

I sighed. Well, today just gets better and better.

"Nobutada, it's okay. You just need to go back up and forget this happened," Y/n said in a calm voice, slowly walking towards him.

When she got within reach, he grabbed her and pulled her behind him.

"What-" I started before being cut-off by 'Nobutada'.

"Don't worry Y/n, I can handle this-this thing."

She rolled her eyes. "Nobutada! His name is Donatello, and he's not going to hurt anyone."

Oh, but how I want to kick you out of our lives.

"But-but he's a-a-"

"Turtle," I finished for him.

Y/n tried waking around him, but he grabbed her again.

I couldn't take it anymore. "Get your hands off her," I growled.

"Donnie, calm down. Nobutada, you can let go, now," Y/n said, getting visibly annoyed.

"But..." he said looking lost.

I walked forward, grabbing Y/n back. She stumbled and fell against me.

"My name is Donatello," I said, forcing myself to be friendly, offering my hand.

He slowly took it, but instead of shaking it, he used it to flip me over, causing Y/n to fall.

"How'd-" I started dumbfounded on the floor.

"Let's go!" Nobutada grabbed Y/n and dragged her off with him.
