After school, Susan, Lily, Nicolette, and I went to the mall together. I needed a dress for the dinner dance at the country club. I probably should've looked for a new dress ahead of time and not a day in advance but hey you live and you learn. We went into a couple of stores before we found a new store called "Chloe's Boutique".

"Y/n look at this one" lily said pointing to a royal blue floor length dress with an a-line neckline

"It's really pretty, but it might be too dressy for the country club. I don't wanna show up in a prom type of dress and be overdressed."

"That's true"

"Susan you go to these all the time, what are you wearing?" I asked

"I'm wearing a white dress with ruffles on the sleeves"

"Sounds so cute"

"I love it. I got it for Christmas last year and I never got to wear it." They all kept chatting while I wandered around the store trying to find the perfect dress. I was starting to get a little stressed and overwhelmed.

"Y/n, you ok?" Nicolette asked me

"I'm just a little overwhelmed, I can't find the right dress"

"Well thats ok, it doesn't have to be perfect"

"Yes it does"

"Why?" Lily questioned

"Because I'm going to the country club with all of you guys, I'm just a girl from Reseda. I'm already gonna stick out like a sore thumb. Plus I'm meeting Johnny's mom and stepdad for the first time. Everything has to be perfect and that starts with the dress."

"You are putting way too much pressure on yourself" she said

"Yeah, His parents will love you, everyone does. It's not gonna matter what you end up wearing, you will still be fine. You could be wearing a dirty shirt and sweatpants and everyone would still be charmed. Especially Johnny. Alright?" Susan told me

"Ok" i exhaled, calming down a little

"Good, now let's get you a dress"

"Let's try narrowing down our options so you have a little less to look at" Nicolette suggested

"Nothing too long" Susan added

"You don't strike me as the type for ruffles, shoulder pads, sequences, or feathers so let's look for simple and classy" Lily pointed out

"You're not gonna want anything too loose and flowy"

"Hey! I like flowy, everything doesn't always have to be skin tight" I said

"I know that but you're vibe is more form fitting than loosey goosey" Susan explained

"Whatever you say"

"So something tight right?" Nicolette whispered to Susan

"Definitely" she said

"What type of fabric do you like?" Lily asked me

"What type of fabric do I like? What am I supposed to say? Cotton? Polyester? I don't know"

"Nevermind"she said "I could see her in satin"

"Ooo yes, she'd look so good in satin" Nicolette

"Or maybe silk or velvet. Both of those are really sexy fabrics. I think it'd compliment her" Susan went on

"Yes yes yes i second that" Lily agreed

"Good now what colors were we thinking" Nic asked

"I like—" I started but got cut off
