Friday (30 minutes before the dinner)

"Y/n" my dad said

"What is it?" I shouted

"Hey, what's the problem?"

"Nothing, sorry for the attitude"

"Sweetheart what's wrong?"

"I'm just stressed. But once i get the meeting his parents out of the way ill be fine"

"Oh I didn't know you we're meeting his parents tonight"

"Yeah, while you're standing there can you hold this mirror right here" i asked

"Oh sure"

"Thanks, these stupid curls aren't cooperating"

"Y/n your hair isnt stupid"

"I know, i'm just frustrated that it doesn't look the way i want it to"

"I like the way it looks right now"

"Well I wasn't changing it, I'm just trying to make it look more put together." I explained to him. I had decided to braid my hair last night so when I took them out my hair would look slightly wavy, so now I'm just trying to make some of them wavy-er. I pulled the two sections from the front and pinned them back together in the middle of the rest of the curls.

I put on my gold studs and gold rings. I looked for the ring my dad got me and put that one on too.

"You're not wearing makeup?" My dad asked

"No, why? Do. You think I should put some on?"

"Just relax. I was gonna say, I like that you're not wearing any, you look very nice."

"Thank you" I said. "Don't you think you should finish getting ready yourself?" I asked. Lydia had invited my dad last night to come to the country club, so he had to get himself together

"Oh nevermind" I said looking up at him realizing he was already set to go.

"That's why I came in here, to tell you I'm heading out."

"Ok. I'll see you there then" I said. I gave him a quick hug before he walked out the apartment then finished getting ready. I did the last curl before I went to the bathroom to put on my dress. It looked even better now than it did when I tried it on in the store.
