Monday

Another Monday morning greets me with another week of school that I have to get through. I am ready for this week to be over so we can start winter break already. I'm in desperate need of a mental vacation, just some time to recoup. Luckily this week should go relatively fast since Wednesday is a half a day and then we're out.

"Hey slowpoke you ready?" Daniel asked, knocking on my door. Daniel had this new sense of confidence about him since the All Valley, not that I mind, but it's starting to go to his head just a little.

"You've asked me that 4 times in the last 3 minutes" I said. "I'm almost ready"

"If we're late that's on you"

"You're welcome to take the bus, champ"

"I'm just gonna wait outside" he said

"No need. I just need my bag" I said. I found for my backpack and my keys then headed for the door

To say I was anxious about showing up at school today would be an understatement. One thing I learned about West Valley High School is that word travels fast, so I knew people were gonna be talking about what happened at the tournament. I was nervous about what people were gonna be saying, but I was more concerned about how the group would react

I pulled into the driveway and before I was fully parked, Daniel was already out the door. I walked into the building and the wave of murmurs hit me

"Can't believe they lost"

"A bunch of cheaters"

"Now that he lost is y/n finally gonna dump him"

"Heard their sensei almost killed all of them"

"That's what they get for being bullies"

"They should be banned"

"Yeah maybe they'll be kinder from now on"

"Did you see the scar on y/n's cheek"

"She's bruised up every other week, nothing new"

"What if she's hurt at home"

"Isn't she poor"

"Guess they aren't as tough as they thought"

"They're still badass"

"That Larusso kid is kinda cool

"Isn't he poor too"

"Who cares if he lost, Johnny Lawrence is still the hottest guy in school"

"Liz, y/n's right there"

"Wait? Did you say Johnny is the hottest? What about Dutch and Bobby?"

"Ooo and Tommy and Jimmy"

"So the whole group? I'm starting to think maybe Daniel is a little cute"

Everyone had an opinion even though most of them weren't even there. I didn't know what to make of the things I was hearing. Some things were accurate and some were just wild accusations.

Another thing I learned from this school was that many different versions of stories get told. Every version under the sun, except for the truth. No matter how many I explained the countless rumors that were started about me, people still ignore it. Unfortunately, I'm used to this now, so it doesn't really bother me.
