"Mommy, what was dad's favourite food?" Xue asked without knowing what reaction his mother would have at the question but he decided to take a risk. Maybe his mother might start opening up about his dad more. After all, everything he knew was from his dad's letters, videos or his grandparents. His mother rarely talked about Chen Rui to him, but he knew she held him tightly inside her heart.

Mei froze as she reached half of the stairs and didn't move for a few seconds.
Xue got nervous as the seconds passed. His mother would usually nag at him or tell him it's not important and avoid the questions.
"Fried noodles with shrimps," Mei said as she started going down the stairs once again.
"But mommy, why don't you cook it then?" the child asked once again, Mei froze.
"B-because..." Mei couldn't find an answer to her son's question.
'I don't even know myself...' Mei slowly put Xue down thinking. 'Why?..'
"Mommy, I want to try it! Will you cook it for me?" Chen Xue asked with cute puppy eyes.
Mei looked at him and her heart melt at her son's cuteness. She giggled and pat his head as she nodded. "Now, go sit on the chair. The food is ready."
"Mhm." Xue hurriedly joined his grandparents with a bright smile on his face. He had succeeded in making his mother agree to let him try fried noodles with shrimps.
Then, he remembered his father's letter he found in the basement the other day when he was searching for a phone. Inside the place where he had to insert a SIM, he found a little note.

It said;
{Dear child,
For some unknown reason, I had a feeling your mother will never cook fried noodles with shrimps when I die.
Oh, sorry for the straightforward word. I'm not good at beating around the brush.
So, I was saying, today, your mother made amazing fried noodles. It was very tasty. I hope you can try it someday. It's also my favourite food.
Hope you enjoy the meal, my beloved child.

Ps: I hope you didn't only find this letter because this is one lame letter. About food. Then again, I heard children love food. I don't even know how old you are now... But there's this and more. Good luck finding them.

Love you,
Your father.}

-At Xiao mansion-

Xiao Lei entered his house as he stop when his mother called him out.
"Lei'er!" The woman rushed towards him with a bright face.
"What?" He started at her coldly making her shiver.
"I-I just... made your dad's favourite dish today. And I remember you used to like it." She spoke with a faint grin on her lips.

Xiao Lei glanced at the tables with a lot of western food. He frowned at the sight with disgust. He turned his head towards his mother with a smirk on his face.
"My dear mother, dad hated western food." He spoke as he walked the stairs towards his room.
"Lei'er!" Yixuan yelled as she got up from the table chair.
"Aunty, does Lei'er not like me anymore?" She asked with a pitiful face making Hua feel bad.
She shook her head. "Of course not," she reassured the young female. "He knows you the most, of course, you will be his wife." The mid-aged spoke with a soft grin on her lips.
'And I will...' she thought with an evil sneer at the corner of her lips.

Lei locked his door so no one would enter. He took a deep breath and took off his socks, throwing them at the corner of his room.
The room was quite clear.
'It's probably the maid had done all the cleaning. No way my co-called mother would do that.' Lei thought as a chuckled escaped his lips.
"Mother, huh..." he muttered softly as he recalled the time she didn't try to save his father instead hurriedly ran. "He only tripped... she could've pulled him up fast and run!" His voice rose a little louder than earlier. He tried to calm down by thinking about Chen Mei, but it didn't work. She also pissed him off earlier. Lei'er only closed his eyes to calm himself as he had no other things that could make him happy. Mei was the only option but it didn't work this time.

-The next morning-

Lei woke up, finding Yuxuan sleeping next to him! He frowned and hurriedly got up, confused.
'What the heck happened?!' He screamed interiorly. 'I didn't touch her... right?! Someone, please tell me I didn't!' Lei'er was panicking when Hao Yixuan slowly opened her eyes.
"Lei Gugu." She smiled as she slowly rubbed her eyes.
Fortunately, she still had her clothes on. Lei sighed in relief but the expression soon turned cold. He glared at the female in his bed.
"Get out." He ordered.
"But... let me explain. It's not what you think..." She acted cute, scratching the back of her neck. She glanced right, left. Then up and down.
Lei rolled his eyes and grabbed her hand tightly as he pulled her out of his bed. He led her to the door and pushed her outside.
"Don't ever dare come in my room again, Hao Yixuan." He spoke with a cold tone and a deadly glare.
The female pouted as she turned around.
"Hmph! You wait, Lei Gugu. You will love me." She smiled as she got another idea inside her head.

-At Chen Xue's school-

Xue was playing on the slide with other kids of his age. The park had different types of slides, swings and hanging bars for kids.

All the young boys were all wearing white shirts, blue ties and blue shorts. As for the girls, they were wearing a white shirt with a blue skirt.

"Chen Xue!" A little boy with brown hair called out. "Come here."
Chen Xue ran towards them as he tilted his head at the side, wondering why he got called. "What do you want?" He asked raising an eyebrow.
The little boy pushed him down.
Chen Xue didn't make a sound, as he sat on the ground, only glaring at him with a cold face.
"What? Too scared?" The little boy laughed as he pushed him completely on the grown.
"Guys, come here!" He gave all the other little boys sign to surrounding the white-haired young child.
"You have white hair and blue eyes but your mommy doesn't even look like you." A red-haired boy pointed at Xue's hair as he walked around him.
"My mommy and daddy say that she's a bad person." A little boy with glasses spoke with a timid voice, not sure if he should have said so.
Chen Xue laughed.
"So what?" He got up and slowly brushed off the dirt on his blue shorts. "My mommy is the best in the world. And I don't need a daddy who looks like me. I just need my mommy who loves me the most. You won't understand because you're too dumb!" He said with a firm tone with a glare.
Thankfully, he was taller than the other boys so it was easier for him to scare them all at once.
His classmates shut up as Xue walked out of the crowded place.
"Oh, Chen Xue is so awesome!" A little girl with pink hair said with huge admiration.
"I know right. It's a shame he changed lately." Another pouted, upset about his change.
"But don't you think he's cooler?" A girl with blue eyes and green hair said with a smirk on her face.
"True!" The other two agreed.

"Well done." A deep, yet soft manly voice spoke from behind.
