"How could you talk to a child about this?!" Mei yelled at Lei as she stepped closer to him.
"I just wanted to meet his dad. Both of you are so locked up in him that I thought that I should meet him at least. Maybe try to help you guys get back together? You never know." Lei said as he stood up again. He couldn't understand any of them. Protecting a man that had left them and that is hurting them even after that.

"Xiao Lei. Mind your own business." Mei spoke with a cold glare. "If you want to date me, alright. But don't bring up my husband. I mean, my ex-husband." Mei flipped her feet to walk inside her house.
Chen Xue had his arms wrapped around his mother's neck as he stared at Lei. 'So he doesn't know that daddy is not here. Should I tell him?' He wondered. 'No, this is more fun.' His cute face turned evil as he smirked enjoying the scene.

After Mei got inside the house, she slammed the door making a loud noise.
Chen Fei and Chen Zi hurried downstairs to check what's going on.
"Child, what's wrong?" The old woman asked.
"Mom..." Mei sighed as she sat on the sofa posing Xue beside her.
"What is it? Did someone bother you? I'll take care of it." Fei hurriedly grabbed his phone to make a call.
"No, no. It's nothing..." Mei spoke softly as she looked up at the old couple. They were making the face that they already knew that she's lying.
"Ok... it's just. That guy. He keeps remembering me of Rui. And I can't control myself..." Mei looked away taking a deep breath.
"That guy?" Both of them repeated at the same time.
"Xiao Lei." Mei bit her lips as she scratched her head nervously. "I also... said I would give him a chance to be with me... I-I'm sorry..."

The Chen couple chuckled as they both hugged the young woman.
"Dummy, you're my daughter. I just want your happiness. I will never get mad at you for marrying another guy. I hoped you did so in the past few years but didn't dare to tell you since you had such strong feelings for Rui..." Zi said with a soft smile.
"If he hurts you though, I will make him pay! No one dares mess with my daughter." Fei spoke with a grin on his lips as well.

"Wait... marrying? What are you saying? I don't love him at all. I just want to test how far he can go." Mei raised an eyebrow confused how her 'parents' got to that conclusion.
"Oh! So not yet." Zi giggled as she patted Mei. "Alright, take your time."
Mei nodded softly.

Xue stares at the happy family he has now. "If daddy was here..." he mumbled but no one heard, thankfully. 'Mommy wouldn't have to suffer this, right?' He wondered as he hurried to go inside his room. He ran the stairs fast.
"Where are you going, honey?" Mei asked as she noticed him running.
"In my room. I promised to play a game with my friends!" He slammed the door of his bedroom in a rush.
"Alright, I'll make dinner tonight!" Mei said as she got up from the sofa.
"Let me help," Fei suggested.
"No, I will help." Zi shoved Fei aside.
"No, you will burn the hou—" Zi covered Fei's mouth before he could finish his sentence with a sharp glare.
Fri understood if he wanted to stay alive, he needed to obey his wife. After all, she was a pro at karate when she was in high school.

Mei giggled watching them fight like a couple of newly married couple. "Mom, dad, it's ok. I can do it," she reassured them with a soft grin.
"Alright." Both of them sulked as they sat on the sofa. Fei grabbed the remote and turned on the Tv to watch a series. Zip watched alongside him.

In a large building with around 50 floors, there was a huge name written on it in red. "Xiao Z", meaning Xiao's Zone. It's a family business passed down from generations. It was basically a cloth industry at first, but with time it gradually became a top enterprise that has all types of things needed by customers.

Inside the president's office, Lei was sitting on his chair tapping on the table. The room had a few files pulled up at the corner of the table. It had a huge bookshelf where there were all kinds of documents organized.

"What's with this woman? Why is she always like that?! He left her, jeez. Like, let him go, damn it!" He slammed his hand on the table in anger as he gritted his teeth.

Zhang Kai knocked at the door.
"Sir... it's getting late. The madam called to know if you will dine at home. Miss Hao is there as well." Kai nervously spoke. He knew his boss was in a bad mood and mentioning his mother would make it worse.
'But I don't have a choice!' Kai cried interiorly.

"Hmm." Lei hummed for a bit.
Then there was a huge silence.
Kai felt a chill going down his chill. 'Am I fired?! Oh no! My wife will kill me!'
"S-sir... please don't. I need to this job... my wife will kill me." He sniffled with tears dripping his eyes.
"What are you talking about? Come in." Lei ordered in a commanding tone.
"Huh? You're not firing me?" He asked with a bright smile.
"I was just thinking. You're the best assistant I ever had. Why would I fire you? I would be the one at loss."
"T-thank you, sir." Kai wiped his tears as his eyes lightened up with more admiration for the president.
"Zhang Kai. Help me investigate something." Lei lift his eyes to look straight into Kai's eyes.
"What is it?.. a person, a murder, or?"
"A person." Lei cut him midway.
"Umm... who?"

"Chen Mei," Lei uttered her name with his lips, but he felt a strange feeling inside his heart. It was like a chill but in a comforting way.
"Oh, her? She's so careful, sir. No one got to have any information about her. People only know she's the daughter of the Chen family and has left for England four years ago."
"Investigate where she was in England and why," Lei ordered as he stood up from his chair.
"Where are you going, sir?" Zhang quickly asked before Lei stepped out of the room.
"Xiao mansion. My so-called home." Lei exited the office room while saying that.

-At Chen mansion-

Xue came upstairs and locked himself up inside his room. The room had a nice sweet smell. The window was open and the green trees were visible from above. The walls had posters of actors, cars and a lot of other things the kid enjoyed. He had a single-sized bed since he was still a little boy.
Xue looked around at his toys but he didn't like them anymore. He found it too childish already although he was still four years old. His mentality grew faster than ever after coming to China and finding his dad's belongings.
Xue sighed as he didn't know what to do. So he took his iPad and started playing his favourite game.
After the game, he texted the person who was second in the ranks. Of course, he was the first.

[Hello]
[Hi?]
[What's your name?]
[Xiao Lian. And you?]
[Chen Xue. Wanna be friends?]
[Sure! Teach me how to play better.]
[You're already so good though.]
[Still!]
Xue chuckled while holding his iPad. He had made another new friend and he was proud of himself.

"Honey, it's time for dinner." Mei opened the door wearing a white apron. She grinned as she looked at her son smiling at the screen. "What are you doing?" She asked as she stepped closer step by step.
"I just made a new friend mommy." The child replied with a bright smile on his face.
"Oh my, that's great! That's my son!" Mei giggled as she picked Xue up and went down the stairs.
"Mommy, what was dad's favourite food?" Xue asked bluntly without knowing what reaction his mother might have.
Mei froze as she reached half of the stairs and didn't move.
