shaking, crying, can't breathe

Liam walks around to Niall's side of the car and takes a deep breath before gently knocking his knuckles on the window. 

Niall takes a couple deep breaths and hopes his eyes aren't too watery then he opens the car door but doesn't get out.

Liam crouches in the opened doorway and looks at his best friend.

Yeah, Niall's his number one.. but he wouldn't want Zayn to know because that would just hurt his feelings..

"Hey, Ni." Liam starts

"Liam" Niall says, not trusting his voice to say much more

"I know-" Liam starts again, but Niall blinks hard and a tear falls from his eye and slowly slips down his cheek. Liam stops himself immediately and just grabs Niall and pulls him into a weirdly cramped hug since one is in the car and one is out but neither care..

"You were s-so hurt.. so up-set" Niall speaks as he hiccups through his tears

"Y-You drank.. you-you.." He couldn't even say anything else.. Liam held him tighter nd bit back his own tears.

He hates that he made his best friend this upset and worried and.. god, he just hates himself for it all.

"I'm okay now.. and her and I, we're just gonna be friends.. She doesn't want to hate me, and I don't hate her.. I promise you, Ni, I'm okay" Liam tries and tries to assure the blonde but he just can't stop himself from coming across a little stern..

Which isn't the best tactic when it comes to Niall...

"I want you okay.. but not with her.. She's bad, Liam.. bad.." Niall whimpers

Liam's never been good at calming Niall down.. and he assumes this isn't the only thing that's got Niall so emotional, he's sure there is something else going on in his life that he isn't aware of that's got him crying harder..

"Look, Niall.. I love you man, I really do.. but I need closure. And being her friend, just her friend, will give me that closure." Liam explains

Niall understands that, so he nods, and he starts grabbing at his own pocket to get his phone out..

Liam pulls away, making it easier for Niall to get his phone, but Niall's fumbling and shaking and can't do anything so Liam takes the phone from his hands and asks "what's the password?"

"7.. 4.. 5.. 6." Niall mumbles in a shaking voice

"Were you calling Harry?" Liam's calm voice asks

Niall just nods and takes in sharp, deep breaths

Liam gets to the contacts and finds 'Babes' in the phone

He grabs Niall's hand and holds it tight as he hits call and waits fro the blonde's boyfriend to answer..

"Hey, Babe!" A cheery, slow voice answers. Obviously, Harry.

"This is Liam.. uhm.. Niall got a bit upset and I suck at calming him down.. and he wanted me to call you" Liam tries explaining without sounding rude, or worrying Harry

"Heavy breathing, shaking, can't talk, crying?" Harry asks quickly

"Yes? All that. Yeah." Liam's a bit confused but he just tells the truth and says yes, since niall is, in fact, doing all that..

"Okay, hold him tight and hum or tell him he's okay and I'll be there in like 5 minutes" Past the worried voice, he hears keys jingle and a door shut.. Meaning Harry really is in a rush to get there

"Okay, Thanks. Bye."

"Tell him I love him!" Harry shouts before the line ends. He hung up.

Liam grabs Niall's arm and looks him in the eyes. His eyes are wide and red from the tears.

"Harry says he loves you very very much and he's on his way right now" Liam informs him

They hear a voice behind them and Zayn looks worried as hell.

"What's goin on? Niall, bub, you okay?!" He asks as he gently moves Liam so he can see Niall fully. 

Beth is right behind Zayn, she's watching with a confused expression and Liam steps completely out of zayn's way and over to the girl

"He-, He just, He started crying and breathing h-hard and shaking.. I didn't know what to do. I called his boyfriend-"

Before he could say anything else, he noticed how Beth's expression changed when he said the word 'boyfriend'
