Ch. 16
Charlotte arrived back to her apartment at 2:30 in the morning, entering carefully and quietly so she wouldn't wake Daniela up. She tiptoed back to her bedroom, where she changed into her pajamas and moved to the bathroom. She removed her makeup and pulled her hair up in a messy bun, brushed her teeth, and went back to her room. She had just crawled under the blankets and almost fell asleep when the light in her room suddenly came on. She shot up in her bed and saw an exhausted Daniela standing in the doorway with her arms crossed.
"What the heck?" Charlotte asked, her eyes adjusting to the light.
"It's about time you got home," Dani said, leaning against the doorframe.
"Well, after you and Christian left, I didn't have a way home, so I had to wait for Michael to get all cleaned up and ride the tour bus with him back to his house, which is like thirty minutes away from here, and he had to drive me back," Charlotte explained, sitting with her legs crossed.
"Yeah, I'm sure that's what happened," Dani scoffed and left the room. As she walked across the hall to her own room, Charlotte heard her mumble, "You probably slept with at least two of them."
"Um, excuse me," Charlotte yelled, slipping out of her bed and walking to Daniela's room as she shut the door. "You know full well that I wouldn't do that, and if I did, you'd probably just be jealous."
Daniela scoffed from the other side of the door and said, "Go to sleep, Charlotte."
Charlotte sighed and went back to her room, laying under the covers and trying to fall asleep.
Thirty minutes later, she was still awake. She tossed and turned, trying to get comfortable, but she couldn't. Not knowing what else to do, she pulled her phone out from under her pillow and unlocked it. She squinted from the bright screen, but went to text Calum, who gave her his number before they left the venue.
CHARLOTTE
"Pretty sure Daniela hates me now."
Charlotte wasn't expecting a reply until the next morning, assuming Cal would he asleep, so she stuck her phone back under her pillow and stared at the ceiling until her pillow vibrated under her head.
CALUM
"Why do you say that?"
CHARLOTTE
"Well, when I got home she was acting all bitter and weird, and then after I explained to her why I got back so late, she said I was lying and that I probably slept with at least two of you."
CALUM
"What the hell?"
CHARLOTTE
"I don't know. And sorry for texting you at 3:30 in the morning, but I can't sleep knowing someone's mad at me. Now there's probably two people, though, and it makes it even harder that one is right across the hall from me."
CALUM
"Yeah... But why would she assume that? I didn't think you were the kind of person who would sleep around."
CHARLOTTE
"And that's the thing, I'm not. And she knows I'm not. But she's convinced I had sex with two of you."
CALUM
"So... going off that... Have you ever... ya know... done it? ;)"
Charlotte was shocked by his question, and kind of embarrassed by her answer.
CHARLOTTE
"Oh this is embarrassing."
CALUM
"Come oooon, just tell me! You can trust me!"
CHARLOTTE
"No."
CALUM
"Wait, no you can't trust me, or no you've never had sex?"
CHARLOTTE
"The latter."
CALUM
"Really? You're hot enough to have any guy that you want."
Charlotte felt her face heat up at his comment. She yawned and turned to her side, falling asleep before replying to Calum.
