"come on, ryuki . . ."

pumping your clasped hands on the patient's chest, sweat trickled down your temple as you glance at the patient and the heartbeat monitor every now and then. you're currently trying to revive a patient you have grown attached to within the time he stayed at the hospital. you can feel the tears brimming your eyes and slightly blurring your vision but you blinked it back and focused on counting the pumps you're making on the patient's chest.

"dr. jeon! the patient is already dead, stop!" one of the younger interns told you but you ignored her and glanced at the heartbeat monitor that continued to show the continuous flatline that signified the loss of another patient.

"ryuki, no please . . ." you slightly slapped his cheek but his warmth is slowly fading away.

"call dr. taehyung. now." one of the senior doctors who also couldn't do anything ordered the first year intern who immediately ran out of the room to call dr. kim — your brother's bestfriend who helped you throughout your whole medical proper journey. he's a great doctor and no doubt one of the people who inspired you to be one. he's very inspiring but he's not the main reason why. it makes you feel good knowing that your hands hold the power to save lives.

you continued reviving the patient but a force that pulled you back made you stumble down the bed. you glared at taehyung who held your elbow tightly. "what are you doing dr. jeon?"

"saving someone's life, dr. kim. it's our job so please let my elbow go so that i can do our job." you were about to go back to reviving your patient when taehyung pulled you back and looked at you straight in the eye. in the hospital, taehyung isn't taehyung—he's dr. kim, one of the best doctors in seoul. his eyes are sharp and his face is always serious. he's not the taehyung you see back home, playing random games with the other six boys.

you saw how taehyung's eyes softened for a quick second the moment his eyes met yours. taehyung couldn't deny that he adores you, truly. growing up with jungkook, he was also there and witnessed how you grew up to be the lady you are today. he was there when you pretended to be a doctor wherein jungkook is the acting patient. and now that you are finally a doctor, he couldn't help but to feel proud of you.

in his eyes, you'll forever be the little girl he grew up with.

taehyung is five years older than you. not much of an age difference but enough to witness you grow up while jungkook is three years older than you. you're the youngest in the OG trio. your brother pursued to be a pilot while you and taehyung became doctors. it's amazing how the three munchkins became such amazing adults — it's crazy, yes.

"how many minutes has it been since the patient flatlined?" taehyung asked, "long enough."

taehyung sighed and looked at the young doctors behind him who's obviously intimidated by his presence. scanning the faces of the young interns, his gaze stopped at the confident looking one. his eyebrows are slightly raised and taehyung saw his young self on the boy. he recognized the young doctor, lee heeseung.

"dr. lee heeseung, how long has it been?"

heeseung adjusted his glasses and fixed it so that it doesn't fall along his high nose bridge, "approximately seven minutes, dr. kim." taehyung nodded, he liked heeseung's confidence and knows that he'll be one of the best after he finish his residency and fellowship program if ever he decides to apply in one.

"now dr. jeon, when should doctors pronounce?" you kept your gaze up even though you just want to break down right there. the sound of the machine beeping is still ringing around the room like it's screaming at you to pronounce the time of death for the patient's body to finally rest in peace.
