Chapter 23

The two vampires faced off after Minhee shuts the door and sent both Jake and Heeseung away. Sunghoon immediately lunges towards Minhee, but the latter avoided it and delivered a powerful punch right on Sunghoon's back which sent him flying across the room.

"It seems like you forgot that I drink human blood without hesitation. Which gives me strength. But you, you chose to branch off and feed on human food as well, thus weakening you." Minhee said before teleporting infront of Sunghoon, stomping on his chest before leaning in.

"Now you are suffering from your own mistakes. I guess it was the right thing to do. To kill your clan in just one snap of a finger, huh?" Sunghoon holds on to Minhee's foot as the lad's weight increases. He felt his chest tightening as he tries to push away Minhee.

Any moment now, Sunghoon can pass out and die at the spot. But he fights the urge to close his eyes, even though he is very tired. When Minhee was about to stomp a hole on Sunghoon's chest, the door suddenly open with force, distracting Minhee momentarily.

This created an open window for Sunghoon to grab Minhee's legs and over throw him. The lad was painfully slammed against the marble floor, slightly getting dazed.

Sunghoon hops on top of him and begins his assault, delivering quick punches all over the lad's face. But even if he do these, Minhee was still stronger. Minhee pushes Sunghoon off of him, grabbing the sofa and slamming it on top of him.

Just as he was about to puncture his chest with the pitchfork, Jisoo barges in and threw a body of Minhee's disciple towards him. The lad dodges this but the witch captured him using dark magic. Shadow like tentacles wraps around his legs.

"Give up or I'll cut your head off." Jisoo sternly said as she threatens Minhee to surrender.

The lad laughs it off before grabbing the actual shadow tentacles, ripping it off his legs. Jisoo was surprised to how powerful he has become. She tried another spell where she takes his breath away, but even this was no use.

The next thing she knew that she was getting choked against the wall. Heeseung pushes Minhee off as Jake helps Jisoo to escape and hide.

Minhee laughs as the two vampires corners him. Sunghoon went in first, followed by Heeseung. They both attacked him, but Minhee's agility makes it easy for him to dodge.

Jake transforms into a wolf, lunging towards Minhee with an open mouth. But the lad used his arm to shield his head from Jake's strong bite. Minhee smirks at Jake before punching him on the side, shattering a rib cage of two.

Jake lets out a pained howl before he was thrown to the side. Heeseung angrily screams before charging.

"Hyung, wait!" Sunghoon warned, but he was too late.

Minhee was already grabbing Heeseung by the neck. The lad then pulls out a dagger from his waist, stabbing Heeseung at the stomach. The bright crimson glow from Heeseung's eyes slowly fainted as he drops dead to the ground.

Everyone went silent as Heeseung chokes out blood. Sunghoon was about to charge as well when Jay grabs him by the wrist.

"Sunghoon, let's go! We have no chance at defeating him." Jay said as he saw Minhee checking Heeseung's slowly dying body.

"But we can't leave them here!" Sunghoon argued. But Jay insisted and pulled Sunghoon with him.

Sunghoon looks back at both Heeseung and Jake lying down on the floor. Jisoo feels sorry for the two, but even she can't fight the strength of Minhee.

Just when they were about to exit the long hallway and to the door that leads them to the ballroom, they stopped on their tracks when they saw a familiar figure looking at them with joy.

"Sunghoon, Jay, mom!" Sunoo cried out in joy before running towards the three.
