Chapter 4

The next morning, Sunoo woke up with a slight headache. It was pretty normal for him since sometimes he stays up until dawn. But this was different. He fell asleep earlier than usual, so why did he start having a headache? He shrugs the pain of as he makes his way out of his bed, preparing for the day ahead.

When he arrives at their classroom, Jungwon and Sunghoon are both discussing something. And they all seem serious about it. Sunoo sighs before going towards his seat with being noticed by the two.

"What are you guys gossiping about?" He asked, catching both Jungwon and Sunghoon's attention.

Sunghoon smiled at him while Jungwon cleared his throat in an awkward manner.

"W-We're just discussing about.. uhmm."

"We're discussing about the strange occurences here in the campus." Sunghoon butted in when Jungwon can't seem to find the right answer.

"About what? What happened?" Sunoo asked. Sunghoon was about to answer when their classmates entered the classroom.

Sunoo sighs before fixing himself since class is starting. But he can't seem to avoid overhearing what the girls infront of him are talking about.

"What?! That's scary! Was he dead when they found his body?" Dead? Body? Sunoo thought. He leans in a little closer to hear it more clearly.

"Yeah. He has bite marks of what seems to be vampire teeth." Upon hearing that, it gave Sunoo a little scare and shiver.

He sits back properly before pulling out a small notebook and a pen. He started writing what he just heard from the girls. That sparks his curiosity, which made him want to investigate it.

When he was a little kid, about seven years old. He and his dad went hunting for some fowls near their mansion. He never gets the reason why they live in such isolation. But all he remembers is his dad fighting what seems to be a vampire. After that incident, he lost his father who he is closed to. That made him cold towards his surroundings as he only finds happiness when he's with his dad and mom. Days prior to his dad's untimely demise, he gave him a tachi. A japanese sword used by the nobles. He kept it safe with him up until now. The crimson handle tells the story of his dad slaying vampires and other stuff...which is hard to believe.

Their professor enters the classroom with a distressed look on his face. Sunoo knows he is distress about the death of someone.

"Kids, please open your textbooks on page 345. I– I need a moment." His professor said before sitting down his chair, opening his laptop.

Sunoo felt someone tapping his back, and when he turns around, it was Jungwon.

"Do you want to join us later?" Jungwon asked. Sunoo stares at him for a moment before nodding.

"Sure, I don't mind." He answers. Jungwon gave him a cheeky smile before returning to his seat.

The boy who took interest in him smirks as he just made him come with them. Jungwon noticed this and gave his knee a kick.

"You owe me." Jungwon mouths before turning his attention to his book.

Sunghoon chuckles before shaking his head, reading the passage as well.
