Warnings: Swearing

————————————————————

Scarlett's POV:

Scarlett parked directly outside the hospital and rushed inside to the front desk. She didn't even need to explain who she was the just directed her to the floor you were on and what your room number was.

She practically ran through the halls of the hospital pushing everyone passed as she did, to get to you as quick as possible.

She noticed your room when she saw your two friends Elizabeth Olsen and Florence Pugh sitting outside whispering to each other, each had been crying she could tell, both their cheeks tear stained.

They both stood up as they saw Scarlett rushing towards them, greeting her with a sympathetic look.

"Is she okay? Can I go in?" Scarlett spoke fast, wanting to get straight to the point.

"Chris and a doctor are in there now. I'm sure you can." Elizabeth half smiled and Scarlett almost fell through the door as she opened it swiftly.

Though when she saw you, battered and bruised, laying there completely unconscious, it was like everything stopped. She stood still in front of the doorway staring at you tears in her eyes. She wanted to rush over to you so badly, but she couldn't. Too scared she'd cause you more pain. After she made fun of you on live TV and wasn't there immediately to help you, she felt guilty and unworthy of being here right now.

"Are you okay?" The doctor approached her, placing a gentle hand on Scarlett's shoulder who jolted a little at the contact.

"Uh, yeah." Scarlett sniffed, giving her head a small shake before she made her way over to you.

On the other side of the bed sat Chris, holding your hand and looking at you. He was like a big brother to you so was feeling very protective right now.

"I'll leave you alone." The doctor excused herself, leaving Scarlett and Chris alone with you.

"Oh baby." Scarlett mumbled, tears falling down her cheeks as she gently placed a hand on your forehead, the least bruised part of you face.

"What have they said? What's wrong?" Scarlett interrogated Chris who finally looked up at her with red eyes.

"Broken ribs, broken ankle and wrist, punctured liver and grade 3 concussion. They expect she'll but put for a few days." Chris sniffed before looking back down at you.

"Few days..." Scarlett trailed off, taking a seat beside you, taking your other hand.

"Thank you for being there." Scarlett attempted to thank him, but he didn't take it well.

"It should have been you, not me, not florence or Lizzie. You." It was soft yet every word he spoke hit Scarlett hard.

"I want nothing more than to go back and be there for her. I couldn't help the circumstances and where I was at the time." Scarlett tried to defend herself, trying to convince herself more than chris that that was the issue. When she already felt like shit about not being there, she didn't want him to dog at her about it either.

"Look, Scar, I love you both, you know that. But this is serious. Your right, maybe you can't change the past but you can be here for her right now." He nodded, knowing full well that  Scarlett will not be leaving your side until you are 100% better again.

They sat there in silence, sitting by your side. Florence and Lizzie came and sat down as well a few times, before leaving to do coffee rounds for them all.

However, eventually the doctor came back in and asked for only one person to stay. The closest person to you, were her words. So Scarlett stayed, bidding the other three goodbye and thank yous and promising regular updates.

The doctors did a few more scans and didn't find any more damage to your body than they already had. So declared it a waiting game. There was nothing else they could do until you woke and they could observe you better, help you get better once more.

It broke Scarlett to hear that not even the professionals could put a precise time on your unconsciousness but she had to listen and wait.
