Warnings: Swearing, panic attacks

————————————————————

It has never happened before. You're always on point, ready for anything that comes your way. Everything was going fine. Until it wasn't.

"Shit, they're everywhere." Tony spoke through comes as he flew over the base.

You were stuck inside with Natasha, fighting off as many robots as possible. One after the other, non stop.

Steve and Clint focussed outside while Wanda protected Banner in the control room, figuring out some way to shut all the robots down.

"Language." Steve grumbled, even through all the chaos. Typical.

"Bruce, please tell me your close to shutting these down." Natasha ignored Steve's comment as she spoke through her earpiece.

"I'm nearly there, it's just... taking a while." Bruce replied hesitantly, knowing the rest of you were getting annoyed.

Another 10 minutes went by. Complete chaos, non stop fighting, no break or time to catch a breath But then it all stopped. All surrounding robots just collapsed to the ground and you finally able to take a breath. Although that triggered something in you.

It was like, up until now your brain hadn't fully processed the fact you were fighting killer robots. Robots. People, agents, you could handle, people with powers even, but robots? Why has that triggered you so much.

"Nat...can't breathe." You gasped for air, touching the wall beside you, hoping for something to grip onto.

It was like you're whole body was preparing to shut down, like your head was being hardly squeezed, like every breath you took was intoxicating you. Your clothes made you feel claustrophobic and the laces on your mission boots felt too tight, the silence that now surrounded you hurt your eyes. It was a complete sensory overload, that's the best way you could have described it.

"Woah, hey- it's okay, you're good, just sit down." Natasha was instantly by your side, she knew how to deal with this kind of stuff. She took your hand and squeezed it on a small steady rhythm for you to focus on.

"Follow my breathing. In... and out. come on." Natasha encouraged you, she knew the most important thing to do was to steady your breathing.

"I can't." You insisted, clutching your chest as tears rolled down your eyes. You were ice cold to touch, despite the sweat that dripped down the side of your head.

"Yes, you can. I know you can." Natasha insisted but you shook your head.

Natasha knew you both needed to get there fast. So she had to think quick. Yes quick, not necessarily smart though.

So she kissed you, it took you but surprise a little but you melted into it, taking your mind off of everything as your lips danced together. Then she pulled away and looked at you expectantly.

"How'd you do that?" You questioned, sitting up as you realised you were breathing normally.

"I uh, I read once that holding your breath or sorting your breathing could stop a panic attack. So...when i kissed you, you held your breath."Natasha explained calmly, I small smile on her lips that she was unable to control.

"I did?" You questioned, you were tired and trying so hard to focus back into reality.

"Yeah, you did." Natasha gave you a supportive smile as she laid a hand on your leg comfortingly.

"Thank you, that was really smart." You managed to say, giving her a small smile.

"I know." She smirked before adding, "plus pleasurable." She smirked in attempt to lighten the mood, causing you to roll your eyes but smile nonetheless.

"I don't want to sound like and idiot but i can't get out of here. My body, it aches so badly." You admitted sheepishly, but nat just shrugged her shoulders.

"I'll call Tony to come get you and fly you to the quinjet. I'm sure i'll be doing Steve a favour too, i'm sure Tony's currently making fun of him saying language." Natasha joked again, she could tell you felt a little embarrassed so didn't want to make it a big deal.

Oh Natasha Romanoff, no one deserves you.
