You and some of the avengers were sat in Tony's floor after one of his parties, getting to know the new girl Kate. You were all getting along with her and you easily became friends. Everyone was talking about who was dating who, and Kate took in interest in it all.

"Y/n, have you ever been in love?" Everyone turned to you at the question, quietly cursing themselves for not warning Kate before hand. She knew Natasha had died, only through the way the rest of the world had, but she didn't know the two of you were married.

You and Natasha kept your relationship quite private, you didn't think the whole world needed to know that you were together, only those who were close to you knew.

"It was my sister Natasha." Yelena answered for you, when you didn't reply. You and Yelena were best friends so she knew what bits of information you felt comfortable about sharing.

"I was kinda shy but she was a daredevil." You added, you liked Kate, she could know.

"I liked to smoke, but she would always yell at me." You half chuckled as you remembered all the memories.

"One day she said..." You motioned for yelena to say what Natasha had said, so you could almost reenact it.

"Hey Y/n." Yelena said, for you.

"Yeah what's up?" You asked, looking at Kate who was totally intrigued by the story.

"You know I really like hanging out with you." Yelena continued.

"Aw, I like hanging out with you too." You looked away a little, after a few years it still hurt to talk about.

"I think I really wanna kiss you."

"Wait really?"

"But i don't wanna scare you."

"Oh, no it's cool." You finished, turning to Kate.

"That's how our first kiss happened. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind and be honest, it gave me confidence to do the same. So we both started dating, and it eventually ended in us getting married." Now you smiled, remembering your wedding day as it flashed through your mind.

"They fell in love with each other the minute they laid eyes on each other, it was obvious." Clint added, to which Kate smiled.

"That's so cool." She beamed but you shrugged. Your eyes fell to the floor as you kept your tears in.

"Next thing I know i'm saying goodbye to her through a phone when she's on vormir." You sniff, feeling Yelena place a comforting hand on your back.

"I don't know if i can ever love again." Everyone went quiet for a minute, before Kate spoke up.

"Doesn't mean she's gone." She sort of mumbled, but everyone heard.

"Kate..." Steve warned, he liked the girl too and didn't want her saying the wrong thing.

"You still have her in your memories, in your mind and in your heart." Kate continued, she really was a beautiful soul.

"And one day you'll both reunite and be with each other again." You smiled at her words and looked at her. Everyone did. So she shied away just a little thinking she said something wrong.

"Sorry maybe I shouldn't have said that." She quickly apologised, but you shook your head.

"No, don't apologise. I needed that." You assured her, to which she smiled now.
