Natasha sat silently at the dinner table, twirling your ring around her finger. Everyone around her was talking yet she was stuck in her own mind, her head clouded with happy memories that, now, made her sad.

Wanda, who was sitting beside her, noticed Natasha's change in behaviour. But when seeing Natasha's actions with the ring she knew not to mention it, however Bruce, who was sat on the other side of Nat did the opposite.

"You know, you've never told me where you got that ring." Bruce pointed to the piece of jewellery that lay on her fingers, everyone's heads shooting up at the question, interested in Natasha's response.

Though all she did was stare at it.

"Bruce, just leave it." Wanda calmly warned the man, mostly because she didn't want her bestfriend upset but also because she didn't want the boys to do anything to bruce for taking it further.

"What? It's just a ring? Nat's my girlfriend and she wears it on her wedding ring finger, am i not allowed to ask?" Bruce defended himself but everyone rolled their eyes.

"Wanda warned you, don't worry about it." Pietro backed up his sister, everyone with sad looks in their eyes as Natasha stayed quiet.

"Shouldn't it be Nat's decision to tell me?" Bruce ignored the warnings and turned to his girlfriend.

"Clearly she doesn't want to talk about it, so respect that." Steve half snapped and Banner rolled his eyes.

"I don't get the big deal!" Bruce waved his arms around as he spoke.

"Banner, that's y/n's ring." Tony mumbled, everyone struggled talking about it, though not as much as Natasha.

(Flashback)

"I like your rings." You looked up at Natasha as you rested your head on her lap, playing with the rings on her fingers.

"I like your ring too." Natasha replied and you shrugged before looking at it.

"My mom gave it to me. Something about the symbol on it is special, i don't know, she said it's about everlasting love. I just thought it looked cool." You chuckled a little, moving along from the somewhat deep conversation.

"Of course you did." Natasha chuckled along with you.

"What? You don't think it's cool?" You frowned at her but couldn't stop the smile on your face as you looked up at her.

"I just complimented it, are you going deaf?" Natasha teased but you rolled your eyes before you both fell in a comfortable silence.

"Do you believe it?" Natasha questioned quietly, not wanting to ruin the calm atmosphere. The movie you were both watching has been long forgotten.

"What?" Your eyes flickered to hers and she took your hands in her own.

"What your mother said about the ring." Natasha elaborated and you thought for a second.

"I don't know, I never thought about it too much. I never take it off, you know that, and i guess it helped me find you." You smirked up at Nat.

"That was cheesy." Natasha deadpanned and you sat up a little.

"What? Do you not love me?" You nudged her and she sighed.

"Nat!" You hit her arm and she laughed, pulling you into her side.

"More than anything or anyone." She replied seriously and you felt your cheeks turn red.

(Two years later)

Tears fell down your cheeks at the sight of seeing Natasha so upset. All you ever wanted was for her to be happy and now your causing her sadness.

"Don't be sad, tasha. It's not the end." You shook your head as she held your hand, holding you in her lap.

"I can't loose you." She merely whispered but you managed to hear her, trying not to show your pain as she put pressure on your wound.

"You can never loose me." You tried to smile but your energy was draining.

"Stay with me, don't you dare close your eyes." Natasha demanded, so you tried your best to look directly at her.

This is not how she wanted this to end. In the middle of a Hydra base, covered in your blood, holding you in her arms as she tried to stop the blood from your gun shot wound.

"It's too late." You mumbled, a small tear rolling down your cheek.

"No, it's not, Tony is on his way just hang on, please." Natasha begged, but you could feel yourself slipping away.

"I love you, Natalia." You told her with a smile, but she shook her head.

"Stop, your making it sound like goodbye, this isn't goodbye." Natasha replied, doing whatever she could to protect your wound.

"Take my ring." You told her and she looked at you confused.

"Maybe it will help you have hope for when we meet again, because of our everlasting love." Your eyes opened and closed slowly, both of you knew your time was nearly over.

"It still sounds cheesy." Natasha tried to lighten the mood now.

"Y- You don't sound as though you don't believe it anymore." You whispered, unable to keep your eyes open any longer.

"Thats because I love you, Y/n. More than anyone or anything." Natasha tried to smile through her tears as she spoke, now feeling your heart stop and not able to hear your breathing any longer.

All she did was cry. When Tony finally arrived was when she broke down. But before he could take your body away, she put your ring on, and never ever planned on taking it off again.

Only so she can give it back to you, when you finally reunite.

(End Of Flashback)

"Y/n?" Banner questioned, he never got the chance to meet you, to understand and have the relationship the others did with you.

"Right I think that's enough for today." Clint stood up with a shaky breath, taking his and Tony's plate out to the kitchen.

"Come on Nat." Wanda helped her friend up, heading to their bedrooms.

"So is no one gonna tell me?" Banner tried again but he was ignored.

"I wouldn't bring her up again." Pietro advised and bruce nodded slowly.

"This Y/n girl, did she and Nat-" Banner tried to get more information out of Steve when the others left but the super soldier just walked out silently. Trying to keep his own tears in.

(A/N) This was very dramatic but so fun to write lool
