"How the hell did you take me saying I want to smash your skull in as an invitation?" you fold your arms, starting to grow peeved by the persistent god.

There's silence for a moment, not the awkward kind, more of a bitter one.

"I was jealous, alright?" he blurts out.

"Jealous? Pfft, jealous of what?"

"I thought you were trying to keep me out of the way, so you could go get with Pietro," he explains, confusing you even more.

"I told you I was only dancing with him, he's my friend."

"Yes, but you told me that after I went and-" he stops, running his fingers through his hair, "I was irrational, and acted out of pure spite. And for that, I'm sorry."

You've never been one to easily forgive, hell you still hold grudges against some people for petty reasons to this day. The extremely odd thing is, you feel almost no malice towards him anymore.

"It's not like I actually did anything with her, and I hadn't even known at the time that you felt the same way about me-"

"You said outside that we both knew it was more than that, and now you're telling me you didn't know."

"It was a leap of faith Y/N, simple as that," he responds, and you lean back against the wall of the elevator.

You let out a sigh, glancing over at him,"I'm tired of arguing Loki."

"All I'm asking is that you forgive me, nothing more."

"I already have," you reply turning your head away from him again, staring ahead of you.

"I assure you, nothing ever has to happen between us again-"

"Why would I want that?" you whip your head back towards him.

"I don't know, I assumed-"

"Do you think I would have been this bothered if that were the case?" you can't help but let out a small laugh.

Loki stands directly in front of you, one of his hands reaching to cup your cheek.

"So if I were to kiss you again-"

"God no, take me out to dinner first," you quip, smacking his hand away, unable to hide the smirk on your face.

The elevator opens, and you walk away feeling a lot better than before.

As you're about to go into your room, Loki cuts you off from the door, "Meet me downstairs at eight."

"And if I say no?" you tease, pushing him out of your way and opening the door.

"Be there," he states confidently, before vanishing out of sight.

"And I'm the bossy one," you mumble, going into your room and turning on the tv.

'Breaking News: Civilian claims they know Carnelian's identity, could we finally find out who the person behind the mask is? Find out at eight in an exclusive live interview.'

Well this is definitely not what you needed to see right now. You pull out your phone, searching up what and who they could possibly be on about.

The only people who know about you being Carnelian are the team, Alex and Savia. But there is one person, you always thought may have found out about your unconventional job.

You scroll through your contacts, stopping on the number you haven't dialled in years. It rings for a second before being answered.

"Y/N?"
