                                                                 Adam

I am so grateful for Alex. I heard that Cerise Van Sorret was having a party and Alex invited me! And the best part is Gwen’s going to be there.

It’s at seven thirty so I better pick out my suit now.

I want to tell Gwen my feelings but I’ve only just met her this morning. As much as I hate to, I have to wait. But maybe a bit of flirting won’t hurt.

I would like to find out about her past. Especially about last year and what happened. I’ll have to ask someone who was there. Ian walks in. Of course! He was there.

“Ian. Could I ask you a question?”

“Sure, man.”

“You were here last year, right?”

“Yeah.”

“What happened to Gwen?”

“What do you-Oh…right. I’m sure she doesn’t want anyone to know, but whatever. Last year Darcy showed everyone a picture of her using a bong and it looked super real. But no one really knows if it’s real or not. She was really upset about it and everyone started whispering about her and she got annoyed so she left. And no one ever saw her again till now.”

“Wow. Why would Darcy do that?”

“Because he’s evil.”

“Right. Poor Gwen.”

I can’t believe it. Ian said she didn’t want anyone to know. So, I won’t let her know that I know.

After Ian leaves, Darcy enters.

“You pig.” I say.

“Excuse me?” He asks.

“You released that picture of Gwen last year. Why?”

“So you know now.”

“Ian told me.”

“I was bored and I decided to have some fun with a freshman. Gwen was there, so I took the opportunity.”

“What do you mean have some fun? Did she really use it?”

“No. A few of my friends asked her to play a part in a fake movie we pretended to film. Gwen’s role had a scene where she was using the bong. I snapped the picture and then showed everyone. That’s all.”

“That’s all? Everyone thinks Gwen is some kind of trash bag now. If that picture gets out again then the teachers will find out and expel her and tell her parents.”

“Big deal. Her parents are billionaires they can get her into another school.”

“This is a very privileged school.”

“One of out of many.”

I rolled my eyes and left. I knew it before but Darcy is none other than a no good, worthless manipulative, rotten, psycho barbarian. Not even his mother loves him.

I saw that Alex was decorating the main room. I suppose the party will take place in there. I see Alex coming up the stairs and hands a boy a paper. An invitation perhaps? If she’s inviting people to Cerise’s party she and Cerise must be close. I’m glad for her.

Alex smiles as she passes me and she drops one of the invitations. I pick it up and read.

         You’re invited to the

Freshmen Welcoming Party!

It starts at 7:30! Be there!

Wait. It’s a freshmen party? I guess I was wrong about Cerise. She actually seems like a sweet girl if she’s having a freshmen welcoming party.
