                                                                 Gwen

I sit in Cerise’s room listening to her chat away to her maid and sometimes to me.

“I cannot believe that Allie girl is having her party on the same night as mine! I am Cerise Van Sorret. Who on earth does she think she is?”

“Her name is actually Alex. And I think she’s doing it because you didn’t invite her.”

“Yeah, that’s because she doesn’t like me or my music. Why would I invite someone if they didn’t like me?”

“Maybe to get them to like you?” I suggested.

“Margie, you’re aware of people trying to sneak in, right? So before they enter make sure they have an invitation.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

And Annie is having the party for the freshmen! She is so weird.”

“You know, freshmen aren’t always bad. If you got to know them, I’m sure-”

“Please, Gwendolyn. Enough.”

So it appears Cerise is just like the popstar stereotype. Annoying, obnoxious and rude.

Cerise’s room is bigger than the ordinary Corray De Lor room. I guess she has special privileges because Principal Dickens likes her music. She doesn’t even have to have any roommates.

The room also has a view of the lake in the back. It’s gorgeous.

I get tired of Cerise’s annoyance so I leave so see how Alex is doing with her party.

“It’s looking good.”

“Oh, thanks!” Alex says as she smacks a freshmen boy’s hand as he reaches for a donut off the table.

“Those are for the party tonight, dork!”

“Fine, whatever.” He groans.

After he leaves Alex gets unusually close to me and whispers.

“Do you have a boyfriend back at home?”

“Uhh, no. Why?”

“Just asking.”

And just for a moment I feel kind of creeped out.

“Alex…I didn’t know-” She quickly smacks my mouth with her hand.

“NO!” She shouts.

“Then what?” I stare at her.

“Wait…Do you know a guy who likes me?” I ask, quite excited.

“Maybe.” Alex says with a sheepish smile.

“Oh my gosh! Alex tell me who it is!”

“Nope, sorry, can’t.”

“What? Why not?”

“Because maybe he wants to tell you himself.”

“Aww! Really?”

And then it hits me. I know who it is. It’s Ian. He’s been flirting with me and I find out now. When we first talked yesterday at the top of the stairs. He was totally flirting with me. I did kind of have a little crush on him last year. Maybe I should make the first move. But Alex says he’s going tell me himself. How romantic!

I can’t wait. But when will he express his feelings for me? I’ve only had two boyfriends. The first one was Harley Burton in first grade. He ended it when I took his crayons without asking him.

And then there was Brett Carson in ninth grade. He was completely gorgeous but we broke up when I found out he was cheating with Marley Jenkins. I hated that girl.

I felt terrible after that and I hope he did too. I’m just glad he stopped dating her after that. I haven’t really heard much from him after though. He hasn’t been in any relationships as far as I know. I just hope Ian will be different.

“So…Can you give me a hint who it is?” I ask her. I just want to make sure.

“Hmm, okay, he’s super cute.”

Ian is super cute.

“That’s all?”

“Yep, see you!”

An hour later I see Ian chatting with a boy with a black bowl cut and glasses.

“See you later, Ben.” He says. Then he bumps into me.

“Oh, hey Gwen.”

“Are you sure that wasn’t Harry Potter?”

“No. That’s Ben. He’s a freshmen and he’s actually pretty cool.”

I grin at him and a slight smile pops up on his face.

“Are you alright. You know, this morning.”

“Yes. I’m fine. I just wish people would stop babying me.”

“Sorry, it’s just that-”

“Yeah. I know. So, are you going to Cerise’s party?”

“No. Just gonna hang tonight.”

“You sure? I could smuggle you in.”

He laughs and it’s adorable. I think I like him back.

“Nah, I’m sure. Not that thrilled to go to a party with a chick flick.”

“Well then you could always go to Alex’s party.”

“Uhhh, I’m good.”

We both laugh and then he gives me a look. He smiles and I can see his blue eyes clearly. He is beautiful. With that look I feel like kissing him right there.

“Well. I better get going.”

“Where are you going?”

“My quarters.”

“Okay.” I giggle.

He smiles and then leaves. Wow, I totally handled that. Not.
