Genma held open the door for the three of you and ushered you in before walking in. Kakashi sat behind his desk shuffling through some paperwork, Tonton sitting on a stack of books to his right. As you all lined up, he looked up.

Your heart started to quicken as you looked forward. He looked at the four of you the same way before addressing Genma. "How'd everything turn out?" He asked. He really had a knack for keeping things professional.

"They were 2 Hidden Mist ninjas, we found them along the North border of the Land of Fire. We inquired about their business, to which they replied 'they were sightseeing.' That was all the intel we were able to gather before they drew kunais on us. Two of us were able to incapacitate them while the remaining two stayed in the trees to observe our surroundings. We brought them back to the village and Ibiki has them now" Genma replied.

"Ok thank you, Genma" Kakashi said before crossing his arms. "I find it very strange that they were just waiting there. It sounds like it could be a set up."

"We thought the same thing" you said. Kakashi calmly looked over in your direction, your heart rate started to quicken as you made eye contact. "We suggest additional reconnaissance like a wider perimeter sweep during rounds for the next couple of days" you said, remaining collected.

"I agree, I'll make the arrangements" Kakashi said, nodding once. "Thank you all for your hard work."

Shizune entered to retrieve Tonton. "Hello everyone" she said with a smile before picking Tonton up off Kakashi's desk. "I'll be back later" she said to Kakashi. He nodded and Shizune left.

"You're all dismissed" he said. Genma nodded, he and the other 2 Jonin on your team headed toward the door with you following behind them. The three men exited through the door and as you grabbed the door you heard "(Y/N)?"

Your hands instantly started to sweat. You waved off Genma and the others then shut the door behind them, your eyes darted back and forth as your mind started to wander.

Crap. If I thought Genma was grilling me earlier, he's really gonna give me shit now.

You softened your facial expression and raised your eyebrows before turning around.

"Yes?" You said facing Kakashi. You walked towards the center of the room again.

He stood up from his desk and walked to the front of it, about two feet away from you now. He smiled under his mask, his cheeks a little pink. He looked into your eyes and very directly said, "I'd really like an opportunity to get to know you more. Would you want to have dinner together?"

Your mouth opened slightly, as you were at a loss for words. You were taken back by his candidness but it was his confidence that turned you on. His expression looked assured as his eyebrow raised and raised his chin slightly. Any time you'd been around Kakashi or heard about him, people always mentioned his straight forward nature. If he wanted something, he wasn't afraid to go after it.

You let out a breath after realizing you were holding one in for the last few seconds. You tucked a piece of hair behind your ear as your heart fluttered with excitement. "I would" you said with a slight smile.

"Good" he said, closing his eyes and smiling. "How about tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow's great" you said, your smile growing. You folded your hands in front of you.

"Then it's a date" he said, nodding once and putting his hands in his pockets. You felt the excitement start to expand in your chest. "I just need you to do me one favor."

"Sure!" You said, unable to suppress the grin on your face.

"If we could keep this between us, just because of my position" he said with a sigh. "I'm still getting used to everything, it's very strange to have to jump through hoops for something as simple as a date."

"That's no problem, I think that's a good idea" you said with a single nod. A few moments of silence passed as you both smiled and glanced at each other a few times.

"I should ..." he said, nodding toward the stacks of paper on his desk. He headed back to his seat and you put your hands in your pockets. "Sure" you said nodding. You started heading for the door.

"Oh, one more thing" he said after you. You turned around quickly and some of your hair fell over the edge of your shoulder.

"You're very beautiful" he said, smiling under his mask.

Your cheeks immediately turned a deep pink and your eyes glanced down quickly before meeting his again. You bit your lip, almost trying to prevent the huge smile from forming.

He shrugged. "I can't help it, I really enjoy catching you off guard" he said with a chuckle.

He really did too. Your mind went blank, you couldn't think of anything to say back. You just shook your head while smiling. "Tomorrow" you managed to get out before grabbing the doorknob.

"I'll see you then" he said, tilting his head.

Once you arrived at the door to your apartment, you realized you didn't ask him any details. Shit, do I go back to his office now? No, I'm sure we'll find a way to figure it out tomorrow.

You collected your mail and headed into your apartment. As you laid the mail on your kitchen counter, a folded piece of paper peeked out from the middle of the stack. Your brow furrowed as you pulled it out and opened it:
