It'd been a week since your first date with Kakashi. You were in a great mood the whole week and, admittedly, a little distracted. He'd been incredibly busy but you both found small moments throughout the week to see each other. When you passed him by in the village, he made eye contact with you and gave a nod. One night, you were having BBQ with Guy's team and Kurenai. Kakashi was sitting at a table nearby in a seat facing you; he was out to dinner with some of his staff members. The both of you managed to steal glances at each other throughout the night. You even made sure to walk past his table on the way back from the bathroom, giving a soft wave as you held your hands behind your back.

When you were called for a mission a few days after your date, you tried your best to keep it together when you and 2 other Jonin entered Kakashi's office. Both of you managed to keep things very professional during the briefing, barely even showing clues that you two tolerated each other. (Of course, you made sure to call him 'Lord Sixth' before it was over).

You were to report to the gates tomorrow morning at dawn. After you were dismissed, you held the door for your teammates before letting the door start to close. You took a quick glance back at Kakashi's desk but noticed that he was no longer there. As the door shut, Kakashi was already hiding in front of the closet next to the door. As you started to turn around to look around the room, he gripped your forearm and spun you into his embrace. You managed to suppress a startled yelp behind your closed mouth.

"You scared me!" You whispered.

"I'm sorry, I've missed you" he said, breathing out. He had his hand on one side of your head, the other on your back. You had your arms wrapped around his torso, your ear pressed to his chest. You could hear his heart rate slow. "It's been such a long day."

You smiled to yourself, then pulled away from his chest a little before looking up at him. "I missed you too" you said as he put his hand on your face and thumbed your cheek. You put your hand behind his head, running your fingers over the short hair on the base of his neck. Both of your heart rates and breathing quickened.

"Shit, I should get back before they notice" you said, glancing down and breaking the tension. Kakashi didn't move. All he did was remove his hand from your back and lift your chin up to look at him. "I promise you, no one's close to that door" he said quietly. "May I?"

All you could manage was a nod before you readied yourself for a kiss. Would he take his mask off?

He placed his hand on your back again, half pulling you in and half leaning into you. Your heart was about ready to pound out of your chest, you're sure he noticed but at this point you didn't care. No part of you could even pretend to act cool and collected.

As you were nose to nose, he leaned his forehead against yours. Your headbands made a solid but quiet sound as they made contact. You both closed your eyes and took a deep breath in, enjoying the lack of space between the two of you.

He pulled back slightly, opened his eyes and swiped the tip of his nose on either side of yours. With your eyes still closed, you unconsciously tilted your chin up after he pulled away. Kakashi let out a low chuckle before cradling your chin and turning your head to the side.

You were confused for a second until he placed a small kiss on your cheek through his mask. He turned your head to the other side and did the same thing to the opposite cheek. A smile started to spread on your face as he tilted your chin down and kissed your forehead.

You opened your eyes, cheeks bright red. Kakashi gave a satisfied smile under his mask, glancing down at your cheeks. "There's my payback" he said, holding your face.

Your brow furrowed. He raised an eyebrow at you as you thought. You instantly remembered, your expression matching your thoughts. "You just had to call me Lord Sixth, didn't you?" He said, both hands dropping to his side and intertwining his gloved hands with yours.

"It's your name, isn't it?" You said back sassily. "And hey, you said you liked it."

"I also said it drives me nuts" he said with a chuckle. "Come here" he said in a low voice. He let go of your hands and pulled you into his chest for a quick embrace before letting go. "Good luck, I'll see you soon" he said, walking backwards towards his desk.

You walked toward the door and looked back to smile at him before you exited.

Later that next night, you walked through the gates with your teammates. You said your goodbyes to your team as Kotetsu & Izumo waved to you from the entry booth.

"How'd it go?" Kotetsu said as you approached.

"Oh fine, just tired" you said before letting out a yawn and stretching.

"Yeah I'm sure, you guys were gone a full day" Izumo said, resting his head on his fist. "Go ahead and head home, we'll catch up next time you're on patrol."

"Ok. See you guys" you said, holding your hand up. They waved back.

You felt the soreness of your body as you headed in the direction of your apartment, looking forward to a long shower. You grabbed the few envelopes in your mailbox and put them under your arm as you unlocked your front door. You closed the door behind you and as you looked down to take off your shoes, you noticed a small envelope on the floor. You tossed your mail on the counter and bent down to pick up the envelope. As you opened the envelope and pulled the letter out, your felt a warmth spread over your body.

Hello you. I'll be at the memorial stone on Saturday at 9pm, come meet me if you can. x.

You held the letter close to your chest and smiled.
