"You don't look half bad yourself" you said, taking your turn to eye his outfit this time. Kakashi was wearing a black button up shirt with long sleeves, plain black pants and his usual sandals. It looked like an outfit he could easily throw his Jonin vest over if he had to go back to work and no one would get suspicious. As Kakashi looked down at his outfit, you rested your thumb on the top of his hand and noticed they weren't covered with his usual gloves. You quickly took a look at his hand, your average sized hand feeling small in his grasp. He had strong yet delicate looking hands, like they've had their fair share of fights but would always be gentle on a lover. You started to imagine how they'd feel caressing your body before he looked up and you quickly snapped out of it to meet his eye line.

"Oh I-" he started, "sorry" he said before releasing your hand and scratching the back of his head sheepishly.

"I'm not" you said, flashing a smile at him. Kakashi shimmied his hands in his pockets and looked down, smiling to himself.

He cleared his throat and gestured to the portion of the roof that was farthest from the village's view, right below Hokage Rock. He had laid out a picnic blanket with a folded quilt, two pillows to sit on, some small lanterns, a couple of to go containers of ramen from Ichiraku and water for the two of you. It looked so beautiful, the lights of the city reflecting on the flat roof made it feel like you'd stepped into a fantasy.

"I know it's simple, I didn't want to draw any attention in case anyone happened to see" Kakashi said. "Oh and we can always go inside if it gets too co-."

"It's perfect" you interrupted, the glow of the lanterns reflecting softly in your eyes. Kakashi gave a satisfied nod.

You both sat down and Kakashi laid the quilt over your laps. As you were taking in the view in front of you, you glanced toward the door and saw someone's back in front of the door's small window. All you could make out was a Jonin vest and black fabric over their hair, attached to a familiar silver headpiece.

"Yeah, about that ..." Kakashi said with a low chuckle. You turned to face him. "I kind of went back on that favor I asked of you" he continued, passing you your ramen and chopsticks. "I asked Tenzo if he could stand guard tonight to minimize interruptions. I told my staff I wanted to have dinner on the roof and to only interrupt me short of the city being on fire."

You chuckled and smiled at him. You looked down at the ramen in your lap and felt unconscious tears start to prick at your eyes.

This was already the best date you'd ever been on. He'd thought of every detail and it made you feel so taken care of. Was it just because you were on a date with the Hokage or had you always just dated careless men? Either way, your heart warmed at the thought of another date like this.

You looked over at him as he was separating his chopsticks. "Kakashi?" you said quietly.

"Hmm?" he said, looking at you with raised eyebrows.

"Thank you for all this" you said with a small smile.

"You're welcome, (Y/N)" he replied tenderly. "I'm glad you could join me."

You turned to face the village and lifted your ramen bowl closer to your face. You both said "thank you for the food!" in unison before digging in. The ramen was delicious and warm enough to make you forget about the chill in the air. You continued to face forward to provide Kakashi the privacy to remove his mask as he ate.

"Can I ask you a question?" Kakashi said, interrupting the silence. He dabbed his lips with a napkin and adjusted his mask back over his face.

"Mmm!" You said happily. You swallowed the food in your mouth and dried your lips as well before turning to face him.
