You couldn't have prepared for the moment your lips met, it'd felt like you'd waited years for it. His lips were soft yet firm, tender yet confident. The kiss started out sweet and hesitant but quickly grew to passionate and hungry: the pleasant surprise of the connection between you two palpably hung in the air. Every one of your senses slowly dulled as you lost yourself in the kiss. Someone could call your name 10 feet away and you could almost promise you wouldn't hear them, which felt mildly embarrassing to admit as a seasoned shinobi.

Kakashi's arm, still around your waist, eased you closer into his chest as you moved a hand to his back. The two of you broke out into smiles before you started moving faster and hungrier towards each other. Kakashi momentarily moved his lips to your cheek and trailed down your neck as your eyes remained closed. You let out a breathy moan in his ear which made him immediately return to your lips. He ran his tongue along your bottom lip before kissing you again, letting out a low hum of satisfaction.

Still connected to your lips, he lifted you up to sit on his hips and rested your back against a nearby tree. You wrapped your legs around his waist and put one of your hands behind his neck as the other slowly moved up and into his silver hair. You could stay here forever: on his lips, in his arms, in the peaceful part of the hidden leaf's forest with him.

You weren't sure how much time had passed before the kiss started to slow down. As you slowly pulled away, you kept your eyes closed before nuzzling into his neck. Kakashi adjusted his mask and wrapped both arms around your back, securing the hug. You both stayed there for a while, clinging to the moment as you settled back into your surroundings. Kakashi lowered you back to your feet and cleared his throat.

"Well then" he said, adjusting his slightly crooked mask. His cheeks were just as pink as yours, your lips were slightly swollen. You tucked a piece of hair behind your ear and the two of you chuckled.

"Um" you started, glancing down before looking toward his eyes. Kakashi took your hand in his and met your gaze.

"(Y/N), that was ..." he said before smiling under his mask. He continued "the best kiss I've ever had, honestly."

You unconsciously smiled as wide as you have in a while. "Me too" you replied.

He thumbed your bottom lip as you leaned into his touch. He looked down at your flushed cheeks, brightened eyes and swollen lips.

"You are ... incredible" he said, his eyes looked more relaxed than you've ever seen him. He almost looked tired. "So beautiful" he said almost in a whisper, scanning your features. You bit your lip.

"Thank you ... Lord Sixth" you replied, playfully.

His eyes rolled back slightly and his knees buckled a little bit. "You know exactly what you're doing, don't you?" He said, raising an eyebrow.

You shrugged and smiled before giving him a quick kiss on his cheek. He looked down at you and smiled, almost in disbelief this was happening.

"I uh ... I probably need to get back" he said, clearly having no intention of leaving.

"Oh ... sure" you said, nodding. A few moments passed as you both continued looking into each other's eyes.

"Um ... Kakashi?" You said, smiling.

"Hmm?" He asked.

"Don't you need to ..." you said.

"Right ..." he said quietly. He took one more look at you before pressing a kiss to your forehead through his mask.

He removed his hand from your face as both separated. There were a few moments of silence as you both walked side by side towards the park.

"Hey ... can I ask you a question?" Kakashi said, turning to you.

"Sure!" you said, folding your hands behind your back.

Kakashi scratched the back of his neck. "I really enjoy spending time with you and I wish I could see you more. Having the job I have makes that difficult and I have a feeling things are about to get busier. So I guess what I'm trying to ask is ... would you mind if I came by your house to see you whenever I had a free moment?"

You smiled.

Kakashi continued, "I'm sorry, I know that's a strange thing to ask. I didn't want to just-"

"Kakashi" you said, looking over at him.

He looked up from the ground and turned his head to you. "No I don't mind, that sounds nice" you replied, shaking your head.

He smiled. "Great" he said, shoving his hands in his pockets.

Once you both exited the forest and were back on the path, he turned to face you. "It was really great to see you, I'll see you again soon" he said.

"Likewise" you said, looking up at him.

He nodded and left for his office.

The next day, you did some grocery shopping in the morning before returning to your apartment for lunch. You were eating at your table when you heard a knock at the window behind you. By the time you had the chance to turn around, a man in a white hooded cloak stood in your living room. He was carrying something in his arms that was wrapped in brown paper. You quickly stood up, grabbing a kunai from your nearby pouch and holding it towards him.

"Who are you?" You asked calmly but with a hostile tone.

"Shit, I'm already screwing this up" the man said before throwing his hood off and holding his free hand up innocently. Kakashi's silver hair sprung back to it's normal form. "It's me (Y/N), it's me! I'm so sorry, I should have mentioned I'd come in some sort of disguise."

You let out a breath and set the kunai down on your dining table. "Yes, you should have" you said, holding your hand to your chest. "Why didn't you just use the front door?"

"I thought someone would recognize me" Kakashi replied with uncertainty.

"So you thought the Hokage entering a random person's apartment through the window was less conspicuous?" You asked, crossing your arms.

"Uh ... I-" he said, scratching the back of his neck.

"Plus, you're in a disguise Kakashi. Neither one is going to matter" you laughed.

"Yeah, you're right. Sorry about that" he said shrugging. "Hey, these are for you."

Kakashi unwrapped the item in brown paper and revealed a small bouquet of flowers tied together with twine.

"Oh, they're beautiful" you said, taking them into your hands. "Thank you."

"I'm glad you like them" he said, smiling with his eyes closed.

"Now I'm sure this is a funny story, how'd you get these from Ino in that disguise?" You asked, chuckling.

"Oh I ... I actually found those around the village" he said, blushing.

You looked over at him with surprise. "Kakashi I-" you started.

"I'm sorry they're all mismatched" he said with a chuckle.

"I love them ... this is so thoughtful. Really, thank you" you said, setting them down on your kitchen counter.

He nodded, looking at your eyes.

You walked over to him and unzipped his cloak. His eyebrows raised, you smiled and jokingly rolled your eyes.

You wrapped your arms around his waist under his cloak. He let out a relaxed hum, holding the back of your head against his chest with one hand and rubbing your back with the other one. "You're welcome" he said, quietly.
