Emma snuck Michael out of the hospital and into her car. She pulled out of the parking lot and turned onto the road "we shouldn't be doing this.." She said.
Michael sat in the passenger seat still aching in some spots from his injury "it's okay"
The light turned green and they drove on only lasting a few miles until Emma realized her car was low on gas. The only place close by was the local bar.
"What do we do?" She asked.
"I don't know...get some drinks?" Michael said.
"No! We need gas for the car! Get out and go ask someone where the gas station is" she pushed him.
"Hey, I got shot you go ask!" He argued.
"I'm not going in there" she crossed her arms and looked forward.
Michael sighed "just go!"
She tilted her head up "humph"
"Fine!" He groaned "you're lucky you're cute" he said getting out of the car.
"You think I'm cute?" She asked.
"Whatever" he responded and slammed the door.
Emma sat alone In the parking lot with her car locked. She nervously looked around at the suspicious people walking in and out. She screamed when she heard a tapping on her window.
"Easy doll face" the man said through the glass.
She pretended not to hear him.
"What are you going all alone?" He asked taking a sip of his beer.
Again she didn't respond.
"Come on babe, don't be scared" he walked around to the front of her car so she was forced to see his dirty face.
"Michael hurry up" she said to herself.
"What was that?" The man asked.
She looked down at her steering wheel.
Michael stood at the bar tempted by the glasses of beer "excuse me" he said "do you know where the closest gas station is?" He asked the bartender.
"Uh yeah man, just a little ways down the street" he said pointing out the window.
"Okay thanks mate" Michael said and walked back through the musty bar. He reached the door and saw Emma in her car hiding behind her seat.
"Come on open up" the man said obviously drunk.
"Oi!" Michael yelled "what's going on?" He asked walking over.
"Is this your boyfriend?" He asked.
"C'mon just back away" Michael directed the man.
"Okay skinny jeans" the man said stepping aside.
"Em unlock the car" Michael said walking around to the passengers seat.
She pressed the button and the door opened. The man reached for the handle but Emma pushed the door out knocking him over. She closed the door and locked the car again. She pressed her foot down on the gas pedal and sped out of the parking lot only to break down a few miles later.
"So...did you find out where the gas station is?" She asked.
"Yeah it's just up ahead...let's get pushing.." Michael said unbuckling.
Emma laughed.
He opened the car door and got out.
"Wait, you're serious?" She asked.
"Yep" he walked around to her side and opened her door "let's go princess" he said and helped her out.
"Maybe we can call Calum" she said.
"That's no fun" Michael started pushing the car from behind.
"And this is?"
He stopped "it could be worse" he said.
Thirty minuets later it started pouring.
"At least we are almost there!" Michael yelled through the rain.
Emma pushed with her back against the rim of the car "yeah"
"Okay, okay break time" Michael panted.
They ran around to their sides of the car and got in. Their wet clothes stuck to them uncomfortably and Michael's hair dye started running.
Emma laughed.
"What?" He asked.
"Nothing..." She giggled.
"Come on tell me!" He shoved her playfully.
"Your hair" she smiled pulling down the mirror.
"Oh nice" he laughed looking at his reflection "I think it's time to re dye it"
"What color?" She asked.
He thought for a moment "what's your favorite color in the whole world?" He asked.
"Blue!" She smiled.
"Then I'll dye it blue" he decided.
"Why do you dye your hair?" She asked looking for conversation.
He shrugged "I don't know...looking to be different" he looked over at her.
"You know I thought you were a jerk" she said.
"Oh"
"You're not!" She said quickly "I just judged on appearance.."
"So I look like a jerk? That's nice.."
"No no! Ugh no, you're funny and nice and sweet...sometimes" she said.
"Thanks" he said "you're all those things too..except all the time"
She smiled.
After the torrential down pour had ended they pushed again for a good hour. They finally reached the gas station and were back on the road in no time. It was about one in the morning when they pulled up to the penthouse and were inside getting dried off and reunited with their friends.
"Are you okay?" Ashton asked getting the chicken noodle soup from the stove.
"I am now" Emma said wrapped up in her fuzzy blanket sitting on the couch.
They all sat around each other next to a fire they put on.
"I'm glad" Ashton smiled bringing them their warm soup.
"Yeah me too" Michael smiled digging in.
