Bruno didn't really like Felix and Augustine at first. When they were in their 20s, Pepa was tending to Mama, Julieta had opened a restaurant and Bruno was the town's seer.
Then, a few days ago, both Pepa and Julieta came home with a man. Immediately, Bruno went into protective brother mode.
He didn't like Augustine because he almost knocked over the table during dinner one day, and he didn't like Felix because he was...boisterous.
One day, while Bruno and Augustine were walking around the town, the walk was quiet. Until Bruno was called for some help.
"Hey, Bruno!! Can you help me grab my stuff!! I'm moving but it's gonna take a while!!", the priest asked, peeking his head through his front door.
"Coming!!", Bruno called out. Augustine decided to stay aside to not ruin anything.
A few moments went by and Bruno was still grabbing items from the man's house. After, the two decided to walk back.
It was quiet and Augustine tried to break the silence.
"So...Bruno. Is it okay if I can still...date your sister?", Augustine asked gingerly.
Bruno stayed quiet. Truth is, he didn't want anything happening to his sisters. And what if they die and his sisters would break? Just like Mama. And what if their husbands would pick on Bruno like the whole town does and his sisters wouldn't believe him? A million thoughts raced in his head, giving him a headache.
"Look...uh. No. I don't think I'm ready to trust you and Felix yet. Sorry.", Bruno said quietly.
"Look, Brun, I can protect your sister. And I'm not kidding. I will love Julieta the same way I do to your family.", Augustine tried to explain. He did want to date Julieta, but he didn't know that Bruno has serious trust issues due to the many times the Madrigal was deceived and bullied.
Augustine rambled on and on about how much he'll protect Julieta but Bruno still didn't see that Augustine was telling the gospel truth. But, he used his fear of losing his eldest sister and turned it into anger.
"LOOK, AUGUSTINE, IF YOU THINK YOU'RE GONNA CONVINCE ME THAT YOU SHOULD DATE MI HERMANA, THEN YOU ARE WRONG!! BECAUSE WHY SHOULD I TRUST YOU?!!", Bruno shouted. Tears were filling his eyes at this point.
Deaf in his own rage, he didn't hear the non-stop wagon that was headed towards him from behind. Augustine zoned him out and saw the wagon heading straight towards them.
This is your chance, Augustine. Don't screw it up, he told himself.
"...and all you do is mess things up!!", Bruno finished.
"You're right. But will this change your mind?", Augustine asked
"Wha? GAH!!"
Bruno was tackled aside by Augustine and they crashed to the ground. Only then, Bruno heard the wagon halt.
"OH DIOS MIO!! I AM SO SORRY, GUYS!!", the wagon guy said as he continued to drive.
Augustine opened his eyes and he saw Bruno. He was okay. That's amazing.
But...
"HOLY LORD GET OFF ME PLEASE!!", Bruno screamed as he was turning as red as Amity Blight. Augustine chuckled nervously and the two scrambled up to regain themselves.
The two men apologized and they went back to the Casita.
Later that night was a total disaster during dinner.
It was quiet at the table and Pepa just ran away crying. From what Bruno thought, Pepa was probably thinking of Papa and she became a mess.
Bruno got up and ran to Pepa's room, Felix following suit.
"Pepa. Hermana, I'm coming inside, okay?", Bruno asked.
Before he turned the knob, Felix tapped his shoulder.
"Hey, can I come inside?", Felix asked.
Bruno sighed and said, "I got it. I'm her brother. I got this."
"Please? Just in case something happens to you.", Felix reassured.
Bruno closed his eyes and sighed. Then, he allowed Felix to follow him and he opened the room.
A giant breeze brushed against the two men and they tried to trudge through the storm that Pepa was causing.
"P-Pepa!! What's wrong?!?!", Bruno shouted.
"Nothing!! Leave me alone!!", Pepa yelled back.
"Pepa!! I brought Felix with me!! We're gonna calm you down, okay?!?! Just...tell your hermano what happened!", Bruno ushered.
For the youngest, he always had his ways of comforting his sisters.
Pepa then calmed down and the storm subsided, cueing Bruno and Felix to run up to her.
"W-What happened?", Bruno asked.
"It was so quiet...and I thought of Papa...I'm sorry, boys.", Pepa apologized, tears falling and a cloud beginning to form.
"Hey, hey. Shh...calm down, amor. You're okay.", Felix shushed Pepa.
Felix knew the same way. He lost his parents to the same fate, making him live with his uncle, and they ended up being in the same town as the magical Madrigals.
The two boys hugged Pepa, who blushed in comfort. Then, the hug was joined by Julieta, Alma, and Augustine.
Later on, right before the two men left the Casita, Bruno stopped them both and said, "Hey. Uh thanks for the very interesting day today. I uh hope you two had a good time. And, yeah, you can date my sisters."
The two smiled and they left the Casita.
