Mirabel's POV:
As I packed by bags to leave California, I bid farewell to my Tia Sasha, Abuelo Pedro's sister. I've decided to leave the Encanto and travel to America and study the outside world. The sights were amazing to see.
I had left the Encanto behind and ventured on. I didn't care whether or not I was worthy of impressing the familia. I didn't need a gift. I had my smarts.
So, I took the boat ride back home. It was tricky (I almost beat up a man with a stick for messing with me, our boat almost sunk, but thank Abuelo I made it back to Colombia safe and sound).
Once I got home, I was immediately greeted by my familia. Mama hugged me and gave me an arepa just in case, and everyone was worried.
"Guys, I'm fine. I did, in fact, study and I brought some books with me!! I also met Tia Sasha, Abuelo's sister.", I explained.
Everyone was happy about my studies. Except Abuela.
"Where have you been?", she asked.
"Um...apologies, Abuela, but I was in America."
Yeah...my parents wanted me to go but they tried kept it a secret from Abuela. I guess she knew I wasn't in Colombia while I was in America.
"Don't you apologize, Mirabel.", Abuela said sympathetically, and she pulled me into a hug.
I then saw cracks in the Casita but they were fading. Strange.
"I'm just glad that my mariposa is safe.", Abuela said, tearing up.
Tears filled my eyes and I hugged her back.
Little did I know was that when I was gone, there were cracks in the Casita and because my Abuela forgave me for leaving so sudden, the cracks had disappeared.
Then, I felt a finger tap my shoulder. I turned and Abuela chuckled.
"Mirabel. I would like you to meet your Tio Bruno."
Oh my gosh. I haven't seen him since I was small.
